Is there firmware/homebrew app to change the Brightness levels of the old ds? or that installs brighntess levels or should i just install flashme v7 lite on de old ds to use those levels?

There is a program called alite but I do not think it will help you, but never have used it. http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4448 here is a thread about it

I asked this question a while back and if i am not mistaken, your DS phat has to be firmware version 5 or higher (i think, and possibly some version 4 special editions i think i read somewhere.). If flash a ds with the latest flashme v7, if it is capable of adjust the brightness to multiple levels, it will. If it is not like my version 1 ds phat flashed with v7, it will work like the same before. basically on or off brightness.

huh? do you mean dslite only?

You have to have the special Mitsui chip which is only on some NDS Phat and all DS Lites. The Mitsui chip is the power management chip and therfore decides how the power is handled on the cathode tubes.

I noticed 2 bad it can only work with FW-5 dses.

I didn't know they still used vacuum tubes, I will have to be more careful with my ds lite and not drop it. Maybe that is what is causing the case crack. LOL!
