White screens with superpass after poweron NDS

Dear all,

I have buy a Supercard SD and Superpass yesterday.  And I have upgrade the firmware of supercard to v1.5.  But when I use superpass + "Kirby Canvas Curse"(US version) to poweron my nds, after nds logo(upper screen) and health warning message(lower screen) disappear,  there are only show both white screens.

I have some questions about superpass.  Someone can answer it and help me.   Thank you!

1)  Is superpass/passme must be using with "Metroid Demo" rom only?  Anyone try to use it with any other games/rom?

2)  If you have superpass/passme + "Metroid Demo" now,  Can you help me to test, un-plug supercard and only plug superpass/passme + "Metroid Demo" in NDS's DS slot.  After power-on and nds logo and health warning message disappear, is only display with "White screens".  Thanks!

3)  Somebody say (my friend) There is a webpage to check the NDS serial number which is Work or Not Work with superpass/passme.  But I can't find it when searching with Google.  Do you know that?

3.1)  My NDS is a black one, and the serial number is NRH10055321.  Is it ok for use superpass?

4)  Any solution with my case?  Thank you for your help!!

Regards,
goldeneye

First off, Kirby is too big to be working and was confirmed as not working (256kbit / 32MByte are the best ones right now, although a couple 64MByte ones do work as they have their main data before 32Mbytes)

There is a thread here on compatibility, but I seen a site here:
http://www.tehskeen.net/chacker/index.html
with a SC compatibility list.

1) Yes, other games besides metroid work fine with SuperPass/Passme, although sometimes Super Mario 64 gives people problems.
2) This is what is supposed to happen, when its forced into DS mode with passme but no GBA cart it acts like its booting a cart with no ROM data, inits the system hardware and hands off control to the code in GBA slot.

There is no way I know of to boot the DS card that is in the passme, as far as I know its just there to give real verification data to the DS
3) see above, gbarl.it or gbatemp.net for a release list with serials/save sizes
3.1) if your black ds is getting white screens with the superpass in, then its likely working. If you are able to see the SuperCards DS menu to select Kirby to try it then it is definitely working.

4) solution: try a different rom than kirby, perhaps goldeneye: rogue agent?

Dear cory 1492,

Thank you for your reply.  Thanks!
I buy a DS game "Kirby" only.  And I haven't enough money to buy another game after buy "supercard+superpass".   So, I will ask/borrow a DS game from my friend.

I want to know that, "Kirby" not working as boot card is 1) the limitation of superpass(can't recognize 512kbits game as loader)?  or is 2) the limitation of supercard (can't load >256Mbits game)?

case 1)
how about use another <256Mb game+superpass to startup and flash the DS with Flashme.  After that, use "Kirby+flashme" is ok or not?

case 2)
If that is limitation of supercard,  in future is solved that.  Can I re-use "kirby" as boot game?

Hope I can get a game for my friend earlier.  And I can test the Case 1.

One more question.  Is superpass as a one-to-one rom address mapping?
That meaning, I use a 128Mb game as boot card, and I only can play 128Mb game in SC?

Thanks again.

Goldeneye
(I'm very like the N64 goldeneye,  so, use it as my nickname. maybe the first game to try is "goldeneye: rogue agent".)  :)

Besouce Limitation of the Supercard Memory, but soon will be solved...

and  and yes you will can use Kirby to boot... but now you may lost your save if you do so ... becouse actualy games are saving on the boot card ..

when next update on supercard comes  will fix this too.. we will be able to save on CF and you will can use any card you want to boot and dont be afraid to loose you save on Boot card!

pg65

I think he is asking if you can use the Kirby to boot the game. I am able to boot all the 64k nds roms with kirby and save to it
Supercard SD, Sandisk 2 GB, AData  256 MB
Supercard One - 512MB Transcend
Pink DSL with flashme v8a Org-FW  haven't checked

xpss2001

I have exactly the same problem.

When I boot up th NDS, after getting the warning screens, I get white screens.

I boot with:

Super Pass with Warioware touched nds game
SC sd (v1.50) with a 256 mb sd disk and mario 64 ds

My sd card works cause I can access the stuff on the sd card fine without superpass in.

Can anybody help?

*edit
I just remembered. My serial number on my nds looks like goldeneye's:
NRH10052318
its a silver hongkong version

Perhaps it is similar to SM64, where the structure of the game verify changed from the time passme was developed and is not compatible with passme/superpass in some cases. (ie: different games are now available than the ones the ones that were available when it was origionally developed  - metroid demo being the most likely one that was used to create passme as pretty much everyone had it back then...)

First, can either of you confirm with the HK DS's that passme is working fine (ie try it with metroid demo and SC with 1.50 kernel and if you see the supercard logo on the bottom screen its definitely working)

Second, what is stopping you from using flashme? It just may allow booting using the ABXY and kirby... (sorry I got that mixed up the other nite, thought you were trying to boot kirby not boot with kirby in the slot ;) )

Just a thought, but another 4k game that seems to work as well as metroid demo is spiderman 2, which should be getting fairly cheap by now if you shop around for it...

xpss2001

hmm, Ill try using FlashMe
Does anyone know where to get a nds metroid demo? I can try and ask my friends, and ill also ask for Super Mario Ds and try booting with that.

*edit:
Ill try to get supermario ds off someone tonight, but im a little reluctant to use flashme because Ive never upgraded firmware in a console before, and I dont have a wifi card, but I have a laptop with built in WiFi. I dont want to use this though because its not mine...

sry for the double post

I just tried with SM DS, it doesnt work. Maybe Hong Kong version cant use superpass but i doubt it, since I was sold both of them by the same perso (and the same place). Im going to get a Wifi card and see if I can use wifime to update firmware..

edit:
I realize that the version of SM i was using is the US version, which doesnt boot ANYWAY. I need the European version lol.

as far as I know the DS's arent region coded except for the 2 that are incompatible with passme, so if US games arent working on it (I mean actual DS carts) likely you have one that cant work with flashme/wifime/passme (aside from the iQue passme being sold at dspassme.com - provided you have a flash cart that can store stuff in SRAM)

although, if you mean the rom, all the proper version should be booting Ok.. havent tried myself as I have SM64 cart.

xpss2001

I dont know if warioware can boot, but it doesnt look like it.

Im going out now to buy rayman so i can try that.

Im also gonna buy sm64, cause i want that as an actual cart, not jhust on my SC.
