I was in "Game" today (UK) and was informed that they had been advised by Nintendo that, if the Wii was not pre-ordered by this Wednesday, it was probably not going to be available until after March.

This may be some fantastic sales ploy (you had to pay £3 for their loyalty card before you could pre-order with a £20 deposit) or Nintendo has really got something on their hands.

Me, I refused (their order book was bulging) as a friend is marketing director of Hamleys and Game has a concession with discount for employees...

Nintendo plans to have 9 million consoles maufactured by the end of 06, only 3 million of those will be shipped at the time....i dont think they'll be a shortage after that.
