I am having a problem saving GBA games when playing on my NDSL using the supercard Lite. When I play the NDS roms you save a game as normal and you run the game as normal but when playing a GBA rom and I save IN game like a normal game the next time i start the game nothing is saved but I do see some kind of sav file was created on the supercard menu screen. Does the GBA Roms require a different save method in order to save normally.

I am using the program supercard MicroSD ver 2.56 which I am using for both NDS and GBA games for conversion.

When you patch your GBA roms, the patcher should output .gba, .sci, and .sav files.  Copy all of these files to your microSD memory.  There's an extra step you need to perform when saving GBA games.

You're trying to do a regular save--saving normally in a gba game--but you're not writing the save to your microSD; you need to save normally within the game, and then do a L+R+A+Select to actually write your save to your flash memory.  This key combo is tricky to pull off, as it's not the most comfortable, so I sometimes I just do a "quick power cycle", which means I save normally within the game, quickly turn my DS off and then on again, navigate to the "save" SC Lite menu, and manually save the game by selecting its .sav file.

Another option for saving GBA games is the "real time save"; this option saves your game's state exactly as is.  Do a L+R+B+Select to save your game's state.  The menu will ask if you'd like to "load" or "save".  You need to make sure that you're patching your GBA roms for this particular feature to take effect.

Consult the SC Lite "help" menu for a listing of these key combos.
