problem with my supercard lite

hello,

i recently purchased a supercard lite and a 1gb micro sd card. everything works fine so far except for one thing:

whenever i put more stuff on the card than about 200 - 250 MB the supercard lite isnt able to read the sd card anymore. when i turn on my NDS it boots up into the supercard menu and it even shows me the titles of the files that are on there but i get some funny signs and symbols too and i can't load any game. i took a picture to show you what i mean (i pixled out the titles below, that's not a supercard error, but the symbols in the first few lines are).

so first i thought the problem was that my micro sd card was broken. so i formated it a couple of times but i always got the same error. then i got another micro sd card with 512 MB but i'm having exactly the same problem here as well.

so either i'm doing something wrong or my supercard lite is broken. maybe someone can help me here.

i have that latest firmware on it and i even play with it all the time. works fine if i put less than 200 MB on it. i can play, save and everything, no freezes, everything works great. but i'd just love to take full use of my 1 GB sd card.

i appreciate every help you can give me. thx

Devil_Spawn

try putting your stuff in folders

bert

just tried that, same problem still :(

i just ran self test mode and it doesnt give me any errors there either

Devil_Spawn

try reflashing the firmware

sc firmware that is

bert

i'm not sure, but i think there was already 1.63 on it when i bought it. i tried to reflash it with 1.63 a couple of times but it didnt work with that either. i'm guessing downgrading the firmware wouldnt make any sense? lol

(and i can't find an old firmware file anyway)

Devil_Spawn

very odd, did you try 10 games per folder? did that still happen

bert

yes, i even tried less than 10 games. it always happens when all the files on the card together are bigger than about 200 or 230 MB. if i put less on the card everything works fine. it's really weird, at least the self test mode should have given me some kind of error message then, but nothing :(

Devil_Spawn

download an application called hdtune, then run a health scan on your micro sd card, see if there is some trouble there

bert

alright, will do that when i'm home (i'm not on my computer right now). i'll let you know the results then.

by the way i really appreciate all your help. thank you

I have 2gig microSD and put like 30 game in one folder and it works fine...

bert

i just ran the check on both my micro sd cards and they both seem to have no errors at all.

so i guess that means my supercard is broken (unless anyone else got another idea what i could do to fix it)

god damn it, that's like the 5th time that i ordered something and had to send it back because i got a broken unit.

bleh. thanks for your help though!

Devil_Spawn

wait as sec, it could be a long file name glitch
did you put the scfont file from the supercard software on????

bert

hmm no. tell me about that? lol

do i just have to put it in the root directory?

Devil_Spawn

yes, also try renaming all of them to mph or something depending on the game, really shor and with standard characters

bert

i just put a micro sd in with the scfont file on it, as well as 3 folders and about 260MB. it didnt work and it also damaged my whole card.

i took a screenshot of it

maybe there is something wrong with the micro sd slot in the supercard. there were only 3 folders on it and now i lost all my data (fortunately i made a backup of the card before). i just formated the micro sd and it works fine again now (as long as i stay below 260 MB). this is really odd

or maybe it really is the firmware, but i tried reflashing v 1.63 about 5 times now, but nothin worked
