I know I need a superkey to play NDS roms from my supercard CF but do i need a superkey to play moonshell, like watch movies, listen to music, pics?

Yes.  What the superkey does is re-route the DS's boot to point to the GBA slot (where the Supercard is) and run unsigned DS code from that card.

moonshell is the nds program that runs Movies, Music, Text. And to run moonshell from something like supercard lite, you either need a Superkey (or any other NOPASS) or a flashed ds.
