It is wierd that it would detect the Supercard CF in that third position, but regaurdless it should all work the same as long as you used the updated compile.bat that I put in the scz.zip file yesterday.

So yeah, go ahead and press R+L+Up and give it 10 seconds or so to flash and you should be good.

R+L+Up am i safe from bricking my sc by pressing this?

Well, nothing life is guaranteed. The DS could implode into a quantum singularity, sucking you and all of earth into densly compressed ball the size of a pinhead.

But I would say that as long as you followed the steps in the guide, it should not matter what direction you have to push to start the flashing process since the firmware you extracted and modified is injected into all three possible possitions in flashmp.nds.  :D

Well, so far there has only really been two problems, both related.

The flashmp.nds is a small program that holds three versions of firmware for three versons of Supercard, just like on that list which originally said:

Original Supercard aka GBA Movie Player (position 0)
Supercard CF (position 1)
Supercard SD (position 2)

But in reality a either a SC or CF supercard can apparently show in any position.

When I first created the lump file and guide the compiler.bat was set up to only overwrite the firmware for the Supercard SD (position 2). So the first problem was caused when the guy tried to flash his Supercard SD (which showed up as being in position 1), so he got the unmodified firmware for the Supercard CF instead.

So I changed the compile.bat to inject the newly modified firmware into both position 1 and 2. I didn't bother with 0 because I didn't think anyone had a supercard that would show up as an "Original Supercard". But I was wrong and that is whay happened to the other guy. So again I changed the compile.bat to inject the firmware into all three positions.

So as long as you extracted your firmware from your own supercard, that is what will be flashed back onto your supercard.

So with any luck noone else will suffer from the same problems that happened before. But as allways, I can never say 100% for sure. I just relaying all this wonderful information that Mc.Nasty and his crew who made this program.

The worse that can really happen is you will brick your card. Which a lot of good folks here are more than happy to help fix.

I am off to bed. Good luck if you decide to give it a go. Just remember to allways check your preview.png to make sure the colors look good and give it 10 seconds or so after you tap the buttons before reseting it to give it time to flash.  :D

after reading arcc's last post......
i took a deep breath...

and here's what happened.............................................

coolbgdog

Thats weird when I tried L+R+UP nothing happened so I just tried other directions and it bricked my sc cf.  I have to redownload the files because maybe the one I downloaded wasn't updated yet.

Yeah, your one of the two people I spoke of. It was just a slight oversight in the compiler.bat file that messed it up for ya. But I will have your card reflashed soon and it should be safe for you now to try again. :)

kalabaw

special thanks to arcc and jmr, they were patient enough to help me skin my sc :D

Jespertje

So I can run flashmp inside the zip staight away from my supercard cf? If yes do I have the mario look then?

kalabaw

you have to dump your firmware first coz that will be needed when you insert the theme you want on that flashmp.nds

I also have a supercard CF and after following the instructions the flashmp.nds said I had a supercard SD in postition 2 (third in row) so I sould press L+R+up. Just like Kalabaw experienced. I did it and everything went ok  8) I especially like the Mario skin!!
Thanks!!.. good job

Is it may be possible to replace the supercard logo on the lower screen? or is that build in rom instead of in firmware?
ah Wah!!!
