Hey, if i want to play GBA games on my Supercard on my DS can I?

Do I still need to use the passkey?

Also, can I just use the Supercard in a GBA and play games with it?

Finally, is there a way to save GBA games from my regular cart (eg like Pokemon) onto my SD card? I want to loan my Pokemon game out and let the person restart but not lose my own game progress.

Thanks!

1) yes, use the patching software

2) yes, unless your ds is flashed with flashme.

3) I think so, but I have never tried it.

4) use rain or rein to back it up see this thread to learn how How can I get my save from my real DS cart ?

AnalogMan

1) Yes, you use the converter software just like DS games

2) No, it doesn't need to be flashed to play GBA games

3) Yes, the Supercard can run in a GBA just fine, nothing special to it

4) There IS a way to backup save games from GBA carts, but it requires a Supercard CF and I don't know much about it.

To save in GBA games:

There is two ways, the Real Time Save and the In Game Save

Real Time Save: To be able to save anytime, anywhere.
To do this, press L+R+B+Select during gameplay and it brings up a menu with Save and Load. Save saves your state, Load loads it. Default is one slot, but you can have up to four by editting the settings of the game while converting it. (More Real Time Save)

In Game Save: This backs your in game save onto the media card so it can be kept. To do this, save in your game using it's regular save feature, then press L+R+A+Select to bring up a save/load screen just like Real Time Save. Choose Save. When you boot the rom next time it's automatically loaded unlike real time save which you have to load manually.

The only caveat to using a supercard on a GBA, unless there's something I don't know, is that you can't natively play GB/GBC. If you copy over a GB game the card will kick into GBA mode and use the built in GBC emulator, which isn't as good.

Note that you can also do all this using the GBA player on the Gamecube if you want, making the Supercard a really versatile little thing.

I think you can use goomba for the GB/GBC games, someone will have to verify as I have not tried it yet.

That's what I meant by "built in emulator". It works okay, but it's obviously not as good as it would be if you could convince the GBA to run the code natively.

Honestly gba sucks to run on supercard, my opinion only. I have a flashcart (xrom 512) that runs like a champ for gba games. More on gba flashcarts
