Supercard SD upgrade to M3 Lite or Supercard Lite

Hi all,

I'm considering a move from my supercard SD to either an M3 lite or the new supercard Lite - I'm edging towards the M3 simply because I have a blue ds lite and I'm anal about keeping it all the same colour!

However, my questions are:

Can I use the .sav files from my various games on the supercard SD with the M3?
If not, are the .sav files compatible with the supercard lite?

Does anyone own the 2 cards and has any opinion either way?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Thought I'd answer this in case anyone else finds it useful:

The M3 management software has the ability to convert supercard saves (in .sav format) to the .dat format which is used by the M3 - hence all the saved games from my supercard are now working perfectly in the M3 Lite.

I've now got to grips with the new M3, and (after some excellent help from the M3 forum) got everything up and running. The ONLY reason I was going for the M3 over the SCL was down to the colour :) as I have an ice blue NDSL. Having seen the quality, features and fit I'm glad I went in that direction. Compared to some reviews of SCL vs. M3 lite, mine fits perfectly in the DS (some reviews had it sticking out ever so slightly) and the GBA performance is 100% - no slowdown in Mario Kart :)

Anyway, if anyone wants any comparison made on this vs. the Supercard SD version, give me a shout.

M3 lite and SC Lite and EZFLash4Lite, they are all pretty much the same. I have all 3, but I use the SC Lite and that’s because of how M3 and EZFlash4Lite saves. It saves after u restart your NDS, which I just can't stand due to a personal accident. 6 hours of gameplay on golden sun was LOST due to M3 being stupid and not saving after I restart my NDS. I duno if it was out of battery or there was a bug or it was my fault somehow like pushing some combination of random button that cancels the save feature after you restart. It didn't matter, my trust in my M3 was already lost. Scarred for life, I threw my M3 lite into my shelf and it has remained there since.

Just a heads up about how M3 saves. It saves after u restart your NDS, even for NDS games... which is kinda stupid, cause SC Lite can save like a normal NDS cart does. M3 should really fix that, at least for the NDS games (I know some people don’t like how SC Lite saves GBA games, but I love it! Seeing that black screen with the word “Saved” on it lets me sleep at night). I duno maybe it’s just me with my Golden Sun nightmares. Most people don't seem to have too much of a problem with the M3. But if you check the M3 forums and the forums at maxconsole.net you can find a few posts regarding M3 save problems. I like to be “safe” so if I were to use my M3 Lite I would probably have to restart my NDS every time I get to a save point in a game. XD I am probably making it sound bigger than it really is tho.

Kvn. <====== Paranoid about the safety of my game saves!

Nope, I agree completely - I'm already doing the same as you were, rebooting my DS after every session to make sure it's saved ok.

With hindsight, I might have just ditched the blue DS and bought a new White one with matching SCL - either that or stop being so stupid about having the flash card colour match the DS :)

Am enjoying the lag free GBA though, not sure how that compares with SCL.

I don't have any detailed comments like those above, but I bought both for the reasons mentioned above.  My intent was to use the SCL with NDS games and the M3 for GBA.  Probably overkill, but I am a little OCD and have the extra cash to get what I want.....
