Help FIXING my Supercard CF.

Okay, one of the prongs has broken (completely, the entire things) and I have a few questions, and also am asking for some help. If my hunch is right, the prongs are made of thin copper. So here beings my questions.

1. Would Copper wire be able to substitute the prong?

2.Would any soldering be needed?

I will take pictures in a few of what's broken so until then.

EDIT: Okay here are some pics, sorry for the quality.

Here^ is the bottom part of the CF reader-part, as you can (barely) see the prong has been fully disconnected from the board.

And here^ you can (again, barely) see that the prong on the right most side in the front row is the one that is missing.
So help greatly appreciated.

I don't think wire will do because the prongs (i think the ones you are referring to) needs to touch with the prongs in the ds or gba.  Unless you are very skilled with wire and stuff, I think you are better off finding a thin flat small piece of copper or metal to replace it.  Soldering them together is a must, unless you have another way of sticking two really small pieces of metal together, yet still maintaining the circuit.

hmm maybe...I'm not a very tech savvy person so this is like climbing everest for me. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what materials will be needed.

Technically any metal should do...  Just find a really small piece of metal similar to that one, and solder it together with solder.

find a useless pin (if there are any, then swap it

Hey dont worry..After a night out on the rip i was silly enough to push my CF card into the housing of my super card and killed 2 pins, I thought game over until i sobered up then gave it a go tho i had to crack the case. The only pins i killed were the the 1st and 13th so they are not needed..I didnt try to fix them as they are not needed and i have yet to find a game that wont work...As for the type of wire any copper of the same size will work its the soldering is the prob...Good luck there...

If you are not a tech savvy person, as you state, don't do it.  Just buy a new one.  Worst case: you completely destroy the Supercard because of a short and possibly any CF card you try to use with it, taking your DS along for the brick ride.  Just get a new one.  Much easier solution.
