That nintendo would work harder on grahics for their Handheld systems!   Now i may be a little picky but i think when it comes to video games graphics matter! Like for some racing and shooting games and others are unplayable becasue of the graphics.  I would buy a PSP but there are too expensive for my budget.

So i guess im asking do you think Nintendo will ever match up to Sony's graphics or not?? :?:

Keep on dreaming. The DS is meant for gameplay and innovation.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

mario hoops 3 on 3, i believe shows the UTMOST graphic that the Nds can make.... man it was great to see those images....

but anyways, SNES style graphics are the best for me... haha (well... maybe Yoshi Island, Chrono Trigger like)

I think you answered your own question: The PSP is too expensive for you(and me). The PSP looks better, costs more to make and thus costs more to buy. The DS is affordable because Nintendo used less expensive chips that are less powerful.

The PSP is a very nice system don't misunderstand, but it's all about the same old same old only shiner and prettier. Nintendo is trying to convince us that graphics aren't everything. I only hope the world agrees with them. Because Nifty Racing Game X and Pretty FPS Y are really starting to bore me.

So anyway, to really answer the question, no. The DS is about the power of a Playstation or a Nintendo 64, while the PSP is closer to the PS2. I think I disagree with liquidnitrogen, though. The DS is still relatively new. I think the little box has a few more surprises for us visually.

pre-owned psp at gamestop is only 30 dollars more than a DS.

but trust me, graphics do not equal fun.

i have 2 PSP's (a virgin 1.5 and a 2.71 firmware) and I rarely play them.. I use them mostly for emulation and movies.

Hey, that's a silly thing to say! You have to deprogram all the brainwashing from Sony, wintel and hardware manufacturers etc.

Some games are reliant on GFX and that's cool and I love eye candy too. Some purely on gameplay and atmosphere and imagination.
I'm the type who'd rather read a book than see a movie, so the DS and its return to the grass roots is for me heaven :D
Switch off your targeting computers and feel the GAME, man!

I got my DS a couple months ago, while I've had my PSP for 10 months, and guess what? Since I bought the DS, I never touched the PSP again! PSP games are all about innovation and fun, while most PSP games are mere ports of games successful on the PS2.

Taking the discussion further, I think that the PSP and the DS are complementary: the former is good for 3D stuff, and 3D is better in certain types of games, but not in ALL. The latter comes in when 3D is not needed, and it's all about fun.

Games which are better on the PSP include football ones (PES is really great, and so is FIFA Street 2, whcih sucks on the DS), the NFS series, and such, and they also have Lumines, Exery Extend Extra and Loco Roco, which are exclusive to the PSP, so far at least. On the DS you have all the Mario games, which are all great, Starfox (with its terrific control system, which makes the DS version the best one), Kirby, Ouendan, all the Pokemon's and Zelda's, and many more (also remember that you have GBA compatibility)... Therefore I think you should really own both to get all the best ;).

Nobody believed me... I had a PSP for one week and I sold it. It sucked SO bad. :( I kept telling my friends not to buy it, but they did, and now they all wanna sell theirs.

The only reason I want a psp to play the new MegaMan games... I can't bring myself to buy it and sell it. I'm sure I'll eventually get around to it.
