I just read the front page, I can confirm this post is true upon speaking with romman about it. He said that he would just like to release them at the same time. But infact, the CF version of the kernel is done.

However, he said he wasn't sure how soon the SD version will be done and that it may take as little as a day or as long as a few weeks, these are not his exact words I mind you, this is the impression I got.

But he truly has confirmed there is a CF version done and an SD version on the way to completion and that neither will be released until they are both finished. I hope that I helped you understand the situation.

=[ i hope he finish it soon..

damnit sd users!

Hey, I'm an sd user!  I didn't realize they were so different though that it would be a matter of days or longer to port the code from one to the other.  Either way I eagerly await it, because I'm tired of losing saves.  I hope most of the money I paid for my supercard went straight to romman cause he works his ass off on this and I appreciate it.

I look forward to it.  I'm glad he's delaying it for the CF users.
I'm still pissed about the SC CF version.  POS build quality on that one, mates.  At least the ginormous M3 has a much better build quality.
Anyhow, I can't wait for that feature to come (hopefully they can 1up the M3).

exzapel

What's wrong with the CF version build quality?
Do you have aim?

comapro

yeah i'd also say the build quality is sub par

Dudu.exe

supercard look amazing well build for me!

Robotochan

Sub Par? You mean for the cheapest and best cart out there just now? I don't care that my first Supercard had to be sent back or my 2nd one isn't glued together properly, it stays in my DS and doesn't move. Think of the good rather than the bad for once   like... buying a GBA Flash Cart and being able to use it to play DS games for free or instead of having a 512Mbit cart for $75 you have 512MB for not much more! (incase anyone is wonder 512Mbit is 64Mbyte)

QuoteWe had succeeded make supercard save DS game saver on CF card or SD card. No save lost any more!!!
IMHO it would be nice if he/they released that feature and left the larger than 256 out for the time being... anyway, once its realized and released I will no doubt be very impressed and pleased.

look

I never see my SC CF its nicely tucked away inside my DS

Infact I've never taken it out since I bought it.

I just take the CF out when'm not using it

No complaints here

I sent an email to the Supercard team and here's the response (in bold) and the original email:

"Please can you tell me when the new CF firmware is coming out and the new patching software.

How will the saving process work? Will the user need a gamecart in the DS with the same size Eeprom as the game on the supercard so that the game can be loaded? Will ROMs be patched so that they don't need a gamecart in with the same size or will we still need three different carts like now?
we will upgrade the software, you need not the same size nds game card, the saver will save to cf/sd card."

I emailed asking for a date but haven't heard back.

I agree its not as well built as say My Flash to Advance was but its a 10th of the price and you get what you pay for, but the functions are amazing, I never expected to get DS on it and was happy to have a card that was able to hold many games, right now I have on a 256mb card 7 DS games and 10 GBA games!  And 2 of the DS games are 256mbit...

I wouldnt mind if I had to buy a new one in a year or something!

I love this product!

No.  See it this way you who are easily satisfied with them cutting too many corners.  $5 more you can get the super sturdy SD version.  THAT is how the SC should've been released in.  The circuit board moves around far too much with the CF version.  The plastic is cheap and flimsy.  Once mine died, I opened it up.  Looks really cheap inside.

Think of it from Romman's POV... when you are just starting out, you spent a lot of time and money in R&D, you want to get your product out cheap and fast... to maximise your investment that you already threw in...

Once you have your target market established, then you move in to more feature, a better built, variety, etc etc which probably he can afford now due to the profit he made with the initial CF version and probably the guts to go mass production with probably reduced production cost per unit as well as improved on the built quality.

He probably won't increase the CF quality until he NEEDS to make another revision to the hardware (like to make it work in a GB Micro if it won't already)
