Hey I just got my supercard today and I'm having serious issues trying to get any SD card working in it.

One type gives me sd/mmc *error*: error code:03
and all the rest I tried give me sd/mmc *error*: error code:01

Could anyone recommend a card/brand & speed that they use?

Where are you getting the error appear?
Is this on the DS?
Did you format the card as FAT NOT FAT32?

2kreative

yes sorry this is on my DS.

Normal Boot - Switches to GB mode and then give an error that the card is write protected (which its not).

When I do diagnostic boot (holding L+R) its passes all the tests and halts on the last one with the error I gave above. I have made sure it is formatted as FAT.

The card Kernel is 1.44

i have the problem too
says not find sd please turn off gba and when i run the L+R test i got
SD/MMC error: error code:03

i'm kinda screwed because apparently i can't return it

btw i had the sd version

Dog666

Can you try a different SD card, make sure it states SD on the card, and not Multimedia, or MMC.

I've had success with both Kingston and Panasonic SD cards.

Why can't you return it?

Dog.

Maybe a stupid question but you did make sure that the little white switch on the side of the SD card isn't pushed up to the "lock" position ?

The answer I got was so funny I had to post it

QuoteSC may not test SD card.

So I'm gathering it is a SD compatibility issue. So if people could please post their brand of card and size that is working well for them that might be a huge help :)

format using the command prompt (Start>run>cmd)
(512mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:8192
(256mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:4096
(128mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:2048
(64mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:1024
(32mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:512
(16mb memory card)
format x: /fs:fat /a:512
Replace X with the drive letter of your SD reader.

Yes they are just FAT.

Heres a real dumb question but it must be asked. Reading the back of the box theres a lil thing:

Method of Connecting.

1. Please plug the SD Card (the one with the supercard format files) into the supercard.

These format files, do I need to put special boot files onto the card? Or is that a reference to the patched GBA roms etc.

As far as I could gather the boot menu is part of the Firmware?

socket

there shouldnt be any special "format files"... i'm not sure what that means, but probably just due to poor translation.

the menu is all firmware.  the only thing you should need on the card are the roms to run or possibly a firmware update.

**Update**

I got my Supercard working!!!!!

Before I was about to box it up and send it back to the seller I decided to have another quick go. I put the new firmware update on the SD and put it into my NDS. And the bloody launcher came up!! Ran the firmware (1.50) and it updated my NDS for dual screen. Took out the supercard and added some roms and when I put the SC back in it came up with the silly unwritable error. What I discovered was that I have to push the SC to the right of the DS GBA Slot, there is a small bit of space to do this and the SC is working. It must of just been an Issue of bad contacts. Anyways I'm happily playing ElectroPlankton and all my fav GBA games!

Thanks for everyones help

My Kingston 128MB SD card doesn't work with the SuperCard. However my Cannon 8MB card works just fine. When comparing them, the Cannon card's pins are somewhat longer than the Kingston.

So apparently I have to buy a new SD card.
