I have a Supercard Lite+Superkey and a few GBA roms. Man oh man do they slow down when it gets hectic. Is there an easy way to fix this, or is this just how things are? The NES ROMs don't slow down, but they're not as involved I guess.

Do a search.  There are many discussions about this and patches for it.

use the bare patching method and manual pre-patch for fastest results (though this doesn't fix all roms, it does help a lot in some).... note you will need to use QPC (quick power cycle) saving for this method.
