Stuck in Children of Mana Boss

Hey have anyone beat the big ass black blop boss? The on at the end of the ruins. I have been hacking at this thing for over an hour. Do I need to do something in order for it to die?? Please tell me how to beat this boss. Being hacking at this stupid thing for an hour!

hmm... crap I cant right now still fighting it... Like I am soo buffed up I have like infinite HP with the healing spirit... Ahhhh... So confused. I guess there is something I need to do like for the tree one I had to pull shit out....

Oh NICE!! I beat it! You would never guess how u are suppose to kill it!

You have to get him to jump on to those 5 statues on the map. After you get him to jump on 4 he dies. LOL there is no need for you to ever hit him physically... Wasted a whole freaken hour chopping him. Then while he was chasing me he jumped onto those towers and died! ROFL

You can also whack the broken statues into him with your hammer.
