Ok im confused. For memory cards do you just need the Memory cards from the Gamecube or do you have to buy SD cards?? Thanx

I don't think you need either.  because the sd slot primary function is to show slideshows of pictures.  While the memory cards are for gc games.

I'm pretty sure you can save your Wii games on the SD cards or the 512mb on board memory the Wii has. Virtual Console games will also be stored on SD cards, although they are locked to play on your system only.

We'll see how long that lasts ...

Hehe, we'll see how long the Wii takes to be cracked and running homebrew and ....homebrew games from the SD card ;D or a usb hard drive.

Not to mention that it can WiFi to a DS, which could open up many opportunities - not sure how many would use it though.

What I find most interesting is how all the personal info is stored on the controllers.  I think that's fantastic, you could have on it the fact that you're left handed, like high sensitivity and inverted controls (or whatever), and then you wouldn't have to set up for ages if you went to somebody's house/youth club/office party etc.

And simply, the most fun part of games is multiplayer with people you know.  The thing I find most exciting about the Wii is the possibility of enjoying games with everyone.

Okay :)

The wii takes sd cards. ANY sd cards. greatest idea from nintendo ever for memory IMO.

It also has two slots (hidden, along with 4 controller ports) for the nintendo gamecube memory cards.

It'll be cracked in no time with SD support. Seriously. Plus the fact it takes normal dvds just makes life even easier. I hope my ritek backups of gamecube games'll end up running nicely on it. That way I'll be left with wii, PS2 and xbox 360 under my little 17 inch widescreen hdtv/monitor. Doubt I'll be touching a PS2 until it's moddable.

You must mean PS3 when it's moddable.
