hello everybody!

i just got my supercard sd and wanted to try it with my gameboy micro. i have 2 sd cards (512mb & 1gb), both formatet as FAT (under win xp sp2) and with both i get the error

Not FAT Format. Please turn off GBA

when i start my micro. can anybody please help me?

thank you

Devil_Spawn

make sure you formatted to fat16 not fat32

fischziege

well, the only options possible when i try to format the cards are fat (without number) and fat 32. as i understand it, windows says fat and means fat 16, wich is the format on both cards...

or did i understand something wrong? how can i be shure its fat 16?

First off, Welcome to scdev!

You are correct. When it says just FAT, it is FAT16.

fischziege

well, so both cards are in fat 16.. but why dont they work?

Devil_Spawn

maybe its your sd reader? can you check?

fischziege

well, the sad thing is, my pda got stolen, and so did both sd cards. the good thing is, i got a new card! the even more sad thing is, that this card gives the same error. i tried to format it with an external card reader (the other two were formatet with the built-in slot of my laptop).

does the supercard even work when there is nothing on the sd card? do i have to install an os or something like that? please, help me out here, i could really need a succes right now...

Devil_Spawn

if three cards dont work then i can almost definitely say its either the reader or the supercard that is busted

ridin24z

i have supercard sd and both my sd cards worked fine until i updated my supercard now i keep getting the not fat format.

sinkhead

Have you got the working firmware? There were 2 releases, one that did not work and one that did work.

Also make sure you have the correct firmware (rumble or non rumble or sclite etc...)

Zygarth

That's not going to help him a bunch since he can't even boot to the menu.

That was directed at Ridin24z.

Dumb question, how well does the supercard work with Gameboy micro?

fischziege

not a dumb question at all...

well, i returned the supercard to the retailer, after i experienced the same error on an original gba. the retailer tested it and (of course) found no errors or defects... im trying it with a mini sd now, the guy said that these would like the gb micro better. lets see how this works...

thanks a lot to all of you.

fischziege, let us know what transpires with the miniSD, etc...

on another note, and no offense meant, every time i see your name i think of saying 'fish-jiz'
