Can anyone tell me what this patch option is IGR? As I see this option in many games, under the compatibility list in http://www.dualscene.net/viewpage.php?page_id=28

Ok, thanks for that. But where is this option in the supercard patching s/w?

As I see "Enable Restart" in the rom properties window of the game, and under the options tab "Enable Restart" also. Do you mean this? As I am confused which options to activate and deactivate

Yes, Enable Reset is the IGR. You can enable it in the Options or manually for every ROM. You activate the IGR by pressing L+R+A+B+X+Y (sounds complicated but quite easy actually)

In case you wonder - the Trim Rom option will produce a smaller ROM size (for example, instead of 64MB the ROM might be 60MB or less) and you can you can use it to save some space on your mem card.

Hope that helps.

Now that helps me alot. As I patched up the rom super mario 64 ds like www.dualscene.net/viewpage.php?page_id=28 says Trim: Yes - IGR: Yes, I get 2 Blank White Screens on my ds

Do I have to activate/deacivate one of the IGR options in the supercard patching s/w? Like you said you can enable it in the options or manually for every rom in the properties box

By the way I am using SC V2.56 micro sd pro version + SC firmware is 1.63

Hm, let me see. I actually have Super Mario 64 retail cartridge but I recall I've patched it for a friend who uses a Supercard some time ago and there was no problem whatsoever.

First of all, as a rule of thumb, you have to ask yourself do you need IGR. I personally use it very seldom, as once I finish playing I usually switch off the DS. I use the Trim option most of the time as I like to cramp as many games on a card as possible, and shaving an extra MB here and there helps a lot.

The problem might be with some of the other options. Let me see:

A/ Most of the Game Default Set in the Options tab are valid for GBA games only, at least I think so. The only valid options are the individual properties for every game

B/ From top to bottom, options mean and have to be set as follows:

-  Saver Patch - this sets where the game saves. If you select DS card, the game will save on the DS cartridge in Slot-1 (if you have one inserted) and will overwrite the existing save there. Plus, if you play different games, they will delete each other saves. So, you have to select SD Card instead. Almost all games support this save now, so you shouldn't touch it at all.

- Rom Position Patch - leave that to SD unless specifically advised to do otherwise at Dualscene Supercard list. Very few games use Position Patch to Supercard and when you patch a game this way, it loads for like 2-3 minutes, which sucks big time

- Enable restart - the famous IGR, it is usually selected by default for me, unless specified otherwise at Dualscene's list

- Enable Trim ROM - makes ROM size smaller, I usually select it as well (see above)

- Faster Play Game - allegedly makes the games play faster smoother, usually leave it on

- iQue Game - there is a Chinese version of Nintendo 64/SNES called iQue, probably this option is used for patching such games. Never used it as I haven't seen any iQue games around.

- Enable GBA Union - there are a number of NDS games that provide additional features if you plug a GBA game. Such as extra features in Castlevania: DS if you plug in the latest Castlevania for GBA. Usually leave it off

- Enable Patch Cartridge Access - some of the recent games require this option to be ON, usually leave it to High as specified in Dualscene's list.

- The Enable Rumble options are used if you have Rumble Supercard only.

I know that most of these options are very vague and I hope that my explanation will clear the air a bit.

Finally - make sure you have a good ROM available, as quite often that might be the case for your troubles. I will spare details where to find working ROMs.
