Am I the only one excited about this release in a couple days?  hehe.. I'm pretty excited about it.. only thing is that it is not as exciting, due to the imminent release of FFIII for DS.

Not to mention the fact that FFXII for PS2 is the best single-player rpg i've ever played!

seems like there are droughts and floods when it comes to quality rpgs.

I've played the other GBA based FF games and all of them have worked without any slowdowns.

sneef

yeah.. the only slowdown would probably be if they used a lot of mode7 graphics, or had tons of sprites on the screen..

Actually FF4 GBA had bad slowdowns on SC (not on Mode 7) but fade in and outs and during battle :-(

they weren't that bad with prefetch enabled...  but yes, there were slowdowns..

arrival

oh damn.... :(

ff v ADVANCE has very  bad slowdowns.
It is absolutely unplayable on my supercard CF

Mota

FF 4+5 both suffer terrible slowdowns on supercard, the only way to fix it is to use Prefetch patch, but QPC saving is unreliable on these games so you'll have to choose between saving and game speed :( lame. The fastrestart patch doesn't work with either.

Solution in this thread: http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5554

Be sure to scroll down and see my correction to the FAQ, otherwise FF4 / FF5 will not boot.

Using the method described I was able to eliminate most of the slowdown and can still save using L+R+Select+A

hi, i have a question about this fastrestart.
does it work with sc lite?

i patched some games like in your tut and they are faster, and i can get into the sc menu and hit save or load, but then it freezes. i used the patch for sd.

maybe its not working with SC lite and micro sd and freezing because of that?

is there a fastrestart patcher for SC Lite?

Mota

Nope, it doesn't work with SC Lite. There's one version for CF, one for SD/Mini-SD. Micro SD would need another version, but it does not exist. When I spoke to bubble (the creator of pfpatch/fastrestart) he said he wasn't planning to work on it further.

first DS organize and now this. :(

many devs drop the SC lite..

i read about a solution in this thread: http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=56254&highlight=#56254

(play it normally, save

and then ..... restart to the supercard menu with L + R + Select + Start
(suprizing eh? haha man, found out by accident. fast restart i suppose left in the restart function)

go to saver, select your sav, and tahdah.)

but this works randomly !!!! for me.

for some games it works, for some it does not.
and for FF 1&2 eg it works sometimes only. sometmes it wont load the save, and after resetting a few times it does load it. very strange :_/

any hints?
