You would need a step-down converter to convert the Eur-Asia 220-240V to the North American 110-120V.

ATACK OF THE CAT!

A MUST SEE!!!!!

You wouldn't need a stepdown to use a UK charger in America, as you're not stepping anything down.

I can't guarantee it'll work with a simple plug adaptor, but you're not taking the same risk trying it as you would be using a US adaptor in the UK.

i've tried on my Japan DS phat (normally comes with a 110v charger) a 220v charger that came with a European Gameboy Advance SP (the one with tribal stickers on it) which my wife's cousin owns. and it charged my DS with no problem.  8)

also you can just purchase a Nintendo DS/DSL USB charger.  :D

I meant step up converter. I always get those two terms backwards.

thanks everyone for your replies, i was hoping someone from the uk would tell me it was ok to use the 230v rated uk charger in the US, i found a multi input charger on ebay for £5.19 delivered, so i am sorted now and i've got a spare charger. thanks again everyone.

Where are you going to be in the US?

kyus

Was gonna say. I got my DS lite from the USA for £54 delivered (HUGE difference from £99 eh?) so I got a spare USA adaptor with it. I'd have sold it to you for £2.

Bet that rubs some of your noses in it :P A brand new unopened Lite, shipped for $100 all in? :P

Devil_Spawn

hmm where did u get ur £54 ds lite from?

Ebay o'course!

It took some SERIOUS detective work. But if you search the right places, you'll find buy it now lites at $100 or just a bit more. I was exceptionally lucky in this case, and the seller only charged me $8.50 for postage. I was certainly dubious, but you can always claim back on paypal, so taking chances sometimes pays off.

Sofar, I got a sony ericsson w900i for £90 (member had no feedback, pictures of phone or anything, only stated it was new.) and my latest INCREDIBLE bargain which I only won today is a 4gb ipod nano. The price? £65 shipped.

I always keep track of great offers on hotukdeals, gaming special offers on avforum and a few other places as well.

yeh, I live in UK and i get so jealous. Everything in america is baare cheap! Its almost double the price on everything! 10 dollers is like £10 to them, to us, its only around £5.40 which is nothin...
