For some reason it doesn't go back to the SC menu when you press A+B anymore.
After I press A+B it freezes

Try LoveLite. Different software performing the same function.

um.....lovelite and alite does'nt work on the new firmwire with SCSD

It works on my SCLite, and lets me change the brightness setting, but when I reboot it freezes.
The changes are saved though so it does sort of work.
If I have to reboot though I may as well use the Nintendo one.

Pfft.. Seems like the Supercard team somehow disabled or changed the way Supercard works internally. I'll be working on it again. Doh..  :(

EDIT: I updated my Supercard software just now, and it seems that LoveLite is still working here.

EDIT2: Ooh.. I see. Well, seems that SCLite needs to have the work around after all. Thanks for testing LoveLite miner, I will be updating everything soon.

LoveLite and Alite do not work the same.  The purpose of Alite is to allow one to change their brightness settings without powering off their DS.  LoveLite, on the other hand, simply adjusts brightness and saves that setting to the DS.

ate4m: LoveLite 1.3 doesn't require you to Power Off anymore. Works on Supercard as well as M3 and GBAMP.
