I have used the flashmp of darkfader on my sc miniSD because it was bricked.

Now I can use my SC only with fw 1.52 (gba roms doesn't works!!!), if i try to upgrade i have the error:
"data verify error".

I run test mode (L+R on gba mode) and I have this error:

Test flash
flash id error: b904 0000b9c2
flash ok!

I have read ALL your guides about unbricking SC but i can't update!!!

Is there a way to recompile flashmp.nds with the new firmware 1.70 and direct flashing it?
Or do you have other suggestion?

(sorry for my english, I'm italian...)

jmr

are you trying to upgrade straight to 1.70? if you are i dont think you can
i think you have to upgrade in increments 1.52, 1.53, 1.54, etc, etc.

smurf

I tried with 1.52, 1.53... but always the same error.

And when can i find these old firmwares???

Devil_Spawn

if you aare using .bin upgrades then you should be fine, if you are using .scu upgrades you have to use the specific one

smurf

for older firmwares I found only .scu files, should I convert them into .bin files?

Always "data verify error" or "read flash id error" I have to buy a new supercard???

No, you can't rename a .scu file to .bin file. Make sure you are upgrading with the correct version firmware for your Supercard miniSD. For Supercard miniSD you need to use the Supercard SD version of the firmware/patcher software. Download and upgrade with the latest sd_170.bin file found here . . .

I tried with the version downloaded from supercard site and also from this site but the result is the same.

I'd like to know if there is a method to inject fw 1.70 into flashmp.nds, I think it's the only way...

bitblt

There is absolutely no good reason to try injecting fw 1.70 into flashmp.nds as that is just asking for trouble and confusion unless you are experienced.  Like I said before, make sure you are using the correct version firmware for Supercard SD/miniSD, not the Supercard CF or Micro version.  You can start fresh by running DarkFaders FlashMP program again, and make sure you press UP on the D-pad when prompted.  Then copy sd_170.bin to your miniSD card and upgrade your Supercard in GBA mode. You can also try using sd_163.bin if you prefer.  If you still have problems then there is probably something wrong with your Supercard.

smurf

I used flashmp several times but the result is always the same.
I'm sure to use the right update firmware for SD/microSD and in gba mode the sd_170.bin gives me the same error "Data verify error!"

bitblt

Well, there is probably something wrong with your Supercard then.  Have you tried the sd_163.bin firmware yet? Can you try a different miscroSD card? You might need to exchange your Supercard.

If these questions are out in left field, please disregard. Is it possible the supercard mini is a fake one? When did you purchase it and was it from a authorized dealer? If these questions are possible How to Identify the FAKE SuperCard

smurf

I tried also 1.63 and my card is original. Now I'm waiting for a friend who can lend me a different minisd. I hope it's only the minisd broken... anyway thank you all for your support!!!!

(is there a way to completely reset the supercard, a way better than flashmp?)

is the flashmp in the skinning thread a modified version?
maybe you could try that one & if someone can send you a dumped 1.63 firmware for it

Nope, Flashmp is the only solution for recovering corrupt supercard firmware. Flashmp is quite effective for any type of non-hardware problem when used correctly. I hope you have better luck after testing with a different miniSD card.

smurf

I'm very luck, that was the minisd.

Thank you again, you are great!
