Hi

I just bought a DSLite and a SC mini. Also I took my DS to be flashed the next day, but i don't know which version of flashme they used. Is there any way to know which version of flashme my DSLite has?

Thanks.

*MAYOR EDIT*

Ok, i found out my flashme version is 6... and i want to upgrade to 7.

I read the following on the info section:

If you have done FlashMe before:
If you are upgrading from V4 or older of FlashMe, you will need to do the above procedure, but you can boot the DS using ABXY instead of needing the SuperPass.
1 - get the Installation file from http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/
2 - copy the installation file "flashme.nds" to your CF/SD card
3 - turn on the DS while holding ABXY (if your DS's firmware was trashed and the DS isnt working, use START+SELECT to boot instead)
4 - from the menu select and run "flashme.nds"
5 - you should not need to short SL1, it will only need to write the unprotected portion of the memory and it does so fairly quickly (unless you are upgrading from V4 or lower to V5, SL1 will need to be shorted in this case)

So...
I just need to put the flashme file on the SD, and boot it up? thats it?

Or...
Do i need to short the SL1? Do i need a passkey/slot1 device?

If you run flashme, before you start the flashing process it will tell you which version is running.  I think it will say something like CUR: FM-06 or something like that where 6 is the version number.

there is absolutely no need for you to change to flashme v7, flashme v6 will work perfectly for you.
you are likely to need to short SL1, but dont worry, you are 100% failsafe protected the entire time

Thank you all for your quick responses...

I found out that my DSLite has flashme V6

My question is... do i need the slot1 device (passkey, superkey) to FLASH my DS again?

Or can i do it by just running flashme from my supercard without previously having placed the slot1 device for the SRAM thing...? Obviusly shorting SL1 during the flashing process...

You don't need to have have a slot 1 PassCard inserted to reflash. Just run "flashme.nds" & follow the instructions. The % should increase without shorting the SL1.

Also, DO NOT RUN "noflashme.nds" UNLESS YOU WANT A BRICKED DSLITE!!!

Hope that helped!

Thank you very much!!!

That was exactly the thing i was asking for.
I think im going to try it tomorrow, i dont want to begin the flash process and then find out i need to short SL1 without any tool/training.

Well, today i finally tried it....

And it went OK!!!

Hehe i had to short the SL1, but I was prepared...

My hands were shaking a lot D:, and the % number got stuck in 0 for a while, but after several tries it finally got going and the flash process was complete!

Thank you all very much for answering my questions!
