If you have a Nintendo DS, I suggest getting a supercard + passme. If you're going to strictly be playing GBA games, the x rom is probably what you want.

I recommend getting a supercard first (it works great for most GBA games) and then when you can afford it get an x-rom for those gba roms which are troublesome on the supercard (advance wars 2, pokemon [yuck], games with 'slowdown', etc..)

that's what i did.  i like the x-rom because its very reliable (but the save game backup and restore to/from PC is a bit confusing at first)... but the supercard is really the best value...

i use x-rom for advance wars 2, mario games and whatever i play most frequently (no load time)

[edit]oh, and just to remind you that writing to/from the x-rom cart via the USB linker is VERY slow compared to the ultra fast write speed of a CF/SD card reader (which is what you would use for supercard) [/edit]
