Z64 has been sold, thanks for all of the interest.

Hello everyone, I have a Mr. Backup Z64 hardware version 3 with bios V2.17c. Also including 17 zip discs. The unit works great. It's been sitting in the closet for a few years now. I tested it and everything seems to work properly. Boots up games, backs them up and boots off the cartridge slot just fine.

I'm looking to sell for $260 shipped OBO. I'm in San Diego, CA and willing to ship only in the USA. If you have any questions please let me know. I have heatware under the ID name: spigidygak and that is also my username for ebay feedback. For more pictures click here.

Buyer would also need an Iomega Zipdrive to be able to write roms from PC to the zipdisks though, right?

Also, isn't there a specific rom file extension that this one recognizes exclusively? (i.e. z64) I think there's conversion software to change a rom's format, but just want to confirm how the hardware works.

Yes you would need a zip drive, I do have a usb zip 100MB zip drive I could throw in for $10 if needed.  I don't think it needed a special file format or a conversion from software.  I just remember dragging over the ROM file.  I'll double check later to confirm.

I just checked, and it just backs up games into ROM files.
