Has anyone else had there wii wrist strap break on them?  I have seen that someone cracked there big screen tv and another person has a video of it.  right when I got the wii I thought I didn't need the wrist strap until I was playing Frisbee golf on super monkey ball and I hit my wall a foot from my 60 inch big screen tv.  Then today I was playing wii tennis with the wrist strap on tight and My had slipped and the strap broke and the wiimote hit my brother playing next to me.  I wonder if Nintendo will let my get a replacement wrist strap for free?  This could possibly cause some serious law suits for Nintendo if they break that easily.

sounds like a very serious issue, I hope nintendo gets this fixed.

I seriously doubt Nintendo needs to do anything about this.  The wrist strap is obviously not meant for the actions that people are doing.  There should be no instance where you're actually letting go of the remote and relying on the strap to keep it attached.  Nor should you ever need to do such hard arm swings that would cause the strap to break.

You don't really have to be swinging it that fast to have it break. its just a fishing wire inside of some really thin string.  They should at least make it a little thicker

Actually, the TV ads I've seen for the Wii have shown people getting pretty into it. Nintendo wants you to get crazy with the Wiimote. That's part of the point. And their straps should be built to take it.

i dont think that the broken tv really happened because of the wiimote if you look at the cracks on the tv it hard to beleive it was caused by the wiimote considering at ign their wiimote broke into 3 (easily fixable) when it hit the wall,i think theyre just trying to get a free tv out of it. however, i dont doubt that the wii straps are braking however and do believe it should be fixed

If I didn't have a rubber glove thing on it I think my wiimote would have broken into pieces too once it hit the wall but since it was on there it didn't get damaged at all.

I hate the wii straps. Ive caused more damage to my wii mote with it on, than without it. I forget the strap is on when I put the wii mote down. So I pick my hand up too fast with the wii mote still on my wrist which cause the wiimote to pop up, then smack the table. As of late I have not be using the straps. But I also dont swing the wiimote like a mad man either. simple wrist flicks is all that thing needs.

well sure they want you to get into it but they're not telling you to let go of the damn thing either.

I got the glove thing too and hate it. It looks great and is a great idea, but they make it where the buttons are either flush of become indented and hard to push with the glove on.

Its certainly not nintendo's responsibility to teach people how to hold things.

But, no one takes responsibility for their own actions anymore. If you have issues holding onto the remote, then here is an idea, don't make full force throwing motions at your tv.

Most of the pictures of broken stuff look like staged fakes anyways.

I think some of them might be fake but many are real.  I just got my replacement wrist strap from Nintendo and The strap is about double as think as the original.  So they must have realized they had a problem. I will take pictures and post them later.
