I think we are all getting a little carried away with the holy grail that is the next release given the past problems I cannot believe we will have 100% compatibility with roms, so at least some of you will still have something to complain about/spend time trying to resolve. Personally I like having something that takes a little tinkering stops it becoming to commercial and therefore being killed off by Nintendo. I brought a GBAflash cart that stored 8x as much as my previous flash cards for half the price then gave me NDS functionality for free so I dont mind a few setbacks.

If the new software doesn't come up to scratch, or just plain doesn't come at all, I'll just have to keep seeing what I can do with it

Right on man... If it's too easy, and your kid brother can figure it out with little or no effort, it gets dangerous to the "scene" or whatever.  If it's hard to use, or maybe simply not so straightforward, it keeps thinks "underground"...

2. There is already more than 75% compatibility with NDS ROMS.
3. If I get compatibility with Jump Superstars, I will be happy as a clam.

it's true that this is a bad idea, but what does it have to do with a poll on whether the new firmware will be good or not?

I got Jump Superstars, and after you get the komas, the game can be pretty boring without multiplayer. :\

Anywho, I think it will be good, maybe some extra features would be nice too.
