There is a major bug in Zelda:TP where it gets you stuck in a room and doesn't allow you to progress any further in the game. Watch the video and be sure NOT to save in this room or you too will be screwed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkB53h2M5Pw

Shinster

He is playing the Gamecube version of TP. As there is no fairy following him around as the wiimote cursor.

He posted a follow showing him going through the Wii menus and starting the game and getting the message to connect the nunchuck. It's the Wii version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnb5d9uHh5I&watch_response

Dumb question, can you not use a standard gamepad at all with the wii (something similar to gamecubes)?

sneef

you can for gamecube games, and for virtual console emulation, but not for wii games.

There is a "classic controller" that some wii games will support.

the classic controller has two analog sticks, and the pretty standard setup (shoulder buttons, a "z" button, d-pad, etc..) and plugs into the wiimote.  it is also used for virtual console games.

I guess certain wii action genre games, and others that don't work well with the wiimote will use the classic controller.

zelda twilight princess does not support it.  the wii version only supports the wiimote.

SSBB was said to support the gamecube controller so that it does not ruin the classic gameplay of SSBM

Yep from last years E3:

QuoteAnother question was presented to Sakurai. "How will Super Smash Bros. Brawl take advantage of the Wii controller?" The designer said he had been working with different ideas and had found that too much use of the controller's pointing and motion-sensor functions was not a good thing. He then dropped a hint, saying gamers may not want to throw away their old GameCube controllers, which the Wii supports. Sakurai then said he wants to support the console but offer something different from other Wii games.

That... is not like Nintendo to do. :( Is this the ONLY glitch in a Zelda game EVER? (Besides th bottle trick in OoT and MM. By the way, does that it work in TP too?)

In Link's Awakening for Game Boy if you push select just as you are about to leave a screen you can skip over an entire one.
