Hi,

My old blue DS is kicking the bucket, so I replaced it with a new black DS Lite. I still have my Supercard CF and purchased a Superkey this week

I can't seem to get this combination to work. When I insert the Superkey and my old Supercard into the DS Lite, it boots up to the Supercard menu fine, but when I try to launch any DS roms all I get is 2 white screens. I also tried GBA roms and they don't work either.

What am I doing wrong here?

Are the NDS Lites not compatible with the CF Supercards? Do I need to repatch? Do I need a Supercard Lite?

I'm using the latest Supercard firmware and patcher, and have no problems in my blue DS.

Someone please help.

Thanks.

Could it be issues with the CF card itself?  I know that sounds strange, but I have a CF card that works fine with the SuperCard CF when used on a GBA, but not with my DS Lite -- seems quite nasty as well, odd screen corruption and things if anything does get working.  It looks like a current, or timings, or some other hardware compatibility issue.  Very odd.  I seem to recall another story on this board with someone with a Supercard+CF that worked on a DS Phat, but not on a DS Lite.

Got a Kingston Elite Pro 1GB, and everything is fine now.  :)

Well....I tried you suggestion and bought a new 1GB 133x CF card from Futureshop this morning. It was one of their "store brand" ones, but seemed to be the fastest by the specs. The Sandisk Ultra II was only 80x, which is why I went with the store brand thinking it would be faster.

Still doesn't work in the DS Lite, only in the blue DS (already flashed).

Now I'm really flustered. I don't know if I should go buy the Sandisk and try it (it's $30 more).

I'm not 100% sure it's not the Superkey that's at fault. How do I know it's working properly? When I turn on the Lite, I get the health and safety screen then goes straight to the Supercard menu. I can see all the .nds and .gba games on the card. When I try to launch and NDS games I get 2 white screens, GBA games make it past the Gameboy logo then crash.

I'm super frustrated right now...to the point of just going and buying another Blue DS in hopes that it will work. GRRRRRRR.

Anybody else have any ideas?

Yes, SCCF will work with DS Lite. If your Superkey boots to the dual screen Supercard menu then it's probably fine. Have you upgraded the Supercard CF firmware to the latest version?  Are you patching with the latest Supercard CF patcher? Can you run homebrew?  Why not flash your DS Lite with flashme?

Firmware is at 1.7, using patcher 2.57. I've been using the SCCF in my blue DS for almost a year so it's not like I'm new to this.

I didn't try to flash the DS Lite since I figured that:

a) the Superkey is supposed to allow me to run ROMS on the Lite
b) my SCCF + Lite won't even play GBA ROMS let alone NDS
c)given the 2 facts above, I was leary to try flashing it and risk bricking my (actually my wife's) new DS Lite.

I haven't tried running any homebrew, but Moonshell does run fine. I was able to look at pictures and fire up some mp3's.

So in summary, NDS roms give me 2 white screens, GBA roms make it just past the Gameboy logo then crash, and Moonshell works.

I think I'll be ordering a new SC Lite.

Sounds like the problem I had with the Crucial CF card that didn't work for me.  I got lucky and found named brand card that seemed to be happily compatible.
