SC SD vs CF questions

Hey all,

I have a DS(phat) and am trying to decide which flash cart to purchase. Here is what I want to be able to do:

I want to be able to run DSLinux, so I believe that immediately narrows my choices down to M3 or SC (for the 32MB of Ram on the cart).

I also want to be able to run homebrew apps like Moonshell, Beups, and DSOrganize. I believe SC is better for these (DSOrganize no longer fully supports M3/G6).

This is what lead me to the SuperCard, but the part I am having trouble with is deciding between CF and SD.

I have read on the FAQ pages for a couple apps I would like to run that CF is better supported, but the information is not dated. All the information I found on Google that agrees with this is at least a year old.

Is there still issues with SD cards? If so, are regular SD cards more supported than Mini (since I have a Phat I'm not looking at Micros)?

Also, I have read that SD cards are faster. Do SD cards allow apps to run faster, or is it just the load time that is quicker? SC's sites shows a transfer rate of 64m/5sec for both CF and SD/mini, but does not say if this is a PC writing to the media or the cart reading

Since you can buy media that is rated at different speeds, is there a max media speed that the cart can utilize/support?

Well, I think that is everything. Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers!
Kevin

dsorganise doen not work on the most recent version of the supercard firmware,

cf will be more supported for homebrew, because of the fat libs

the cf for roms is generally faster

the only reason you would buy an sd version is because of its size really.

yes, it boots, but try making, editing [add a few letters], saving a text file, rebooting dso, then opening the text file again

it doesnt work on the newest firmware, it corrupts kthx

Oh yes, you're right. IRC still works so i didn't notice any difference.
