I found this (referring to the You Tube video).

Pimmysays tries to defend the validity of the video by saying:

So I found out who posted this video on the ftp server and he’s saying its for real and that he’ll be posting the bootloader on there (referring to the ftp this video came from) soon along with instructions on how to rip the wii game. He says the hack works similar to the image exploit done on the PSP. I’ll keep you guys updated and rather or not this guy (who wishes to remain anonymous) pulls through. He also noted that he wont be releasing it to the public until 1/1/07, we’ll probably post it on newsgroups first. thats all for now.

Also,
anyone experienced the graphics card overheat problems?

DeVS

Saw the video last week or so, it's fake. No over heating issues here.

Pestilence

Its a fake.
There is no Zelda ISO that work. Only Red Steel was released.

Perseid

Their claim is that they have made ISO dumping software that they will also release on 01-01. We'll see in a few days.

BlueStar

Is this the one where they put a jpeg on an SD card with "Wii bootloader" written on it, then boot another Wii with an original Zelda disc in it, but forget to make sure both Wii's have the same stuff on the channels screen and the same firmware so that anyone with one eye and half a brain can see it's fake?

Perseid

When I swap firmware versions on my PSP the icons can change too, so that doesn't really mean anything. It could well be a fake but I can't see anything in it that makes it an obvious fake(though I don't own a Wii).

I'm having the "overheating" issue..  I didn't know it, till I saw some pics on the net, and it's exactly what mine's been doing.  I get more of the white pixels than the black though.. random white pixels in the middle of textures.. :(

I thought it was just some limitation of the wii.. but i guess it's a defect that not everyone is experiencing.  Maybe I'll exchange mine.

DeVS

Well hell maybe that was what was wrong with my first Wii. it frooze up a couple fo times during Wii Sports but I didn't think much of, then one day it wouldn't work at all. I would turn it on and the screen was black and it looked like words were on the screen but they were all pixled to where I couldn't read what it said and the Wii would not move from that screen. I sent mine back. Nitendo swaped my unit in 2 days. Make sure you back up your game saves NOW onto a SD card, I lost all my shit.

thanks for the tip.. backing up now.

not sure if they'll replace mine.. it's intermittent.  normally it works fine, but sometimes there are white graphical artifacts on the screen.. more noticeable in 480p mode.  what do you think?  if they don't see the issue, will they make me take the same unit back?  or do you think they'll replace it anyway?

DeVS

They will replace it it anyways. You will get a new one before you even send yours back if you do the advanced replacement option. I would do it now cause you will get a brand new one instead of a refurb since there aren't any refurbs yet, lol. They sent me a brand new unit ( box only u keep your chords, controlers, ect). I haven't had a single problem with my new unit. It will suck being without a unit for 2 days (but if your unit is working now and only goes out sometimes you will have it to play while your new one is on the way anways) but getting a brand new unit that works flawless is worth it. And don't let them give you shit about your VC games if you have bought some, one rep told me I was SOL but and that the games lock to the units, but I bitched to a manager or 2 and they went ahead and re-synced my old VC game account with my new unit so it can be done.

they better transfer my VC games... spent way too much on them. hehe.
