iMovies Alternative For Windows

is there any alternative, prefebably free, similiar to iMovies for windows? reason i ask is we've been using it at school and i like the simple interface and how to use it but dont have a mac of my own so im trying to find one for windows that has the same effects, more, or ones that can be downloaded.

any help would be appreciated

you can use something like virtualpc to run mac on a windows, then run iMovie

could you get link me to a tutorial or something that tells me how to do that? ive never used virtualpc before

Virtual PC won't cut it but VMWare does.

can i get a  tutorial for vmware then as well as how to install it?

i am also interested because i have managed to set up a program called PearPc but the thing is that i cant put files in it bacause it needs to be in the network but idkhow to set it up : (

Download either the free VMPlayer or VMWorkstation and install it as normal.

Have a read of this site here, and while there, download both a virtual disk file and a template file to suit your needs.

Edit the template as described on the site and rename the files accordingly.

Run VMPlayer and set up a virtual machine altering settings according to your PC, so if you have 1Gig of RAM, you can allow half of it or more to the virtual machine.

If you want a virtual Linux machine you will need a Linux install disc, if you want Mac you will need an install disc for that.

Otherwise you can download ready made machines called Virtual Appliances from here.
