Which Slot 1 Card will you buy

The Supercard DS seems to be turning out to be a bit of a disaster, from what I've read.

The "100%" compatibility with no patching is a load of crap, for starters.  Many games require patching, and I think I read that many others don't work no matter what you do...  Looks like people are coming to the conclusion that none of the slot 1 stuff is anywhere near the quality of slot 2 stuff, not that it's surprising.

I wouldn't knock the device just yet....especially since it has not been widely distributed yet :)  I personally do not mind patching personally. Think about this. Most people have their roms zipped (I do), and running them clean would mean unzipping and copying them to the microSD card. Well, the current patching software will allow you to select zipped roms, and will unzip/patch them and copy them to the microSD directly. What is the issue? If the game compatibility is up there (and it is with the SC slot2 solutions) well, I'll be happy. One thing for sure is that the track record of the SC team is excellent, with consistent updates to their products. I think that this will be the case with the slot1 device as well, and I see no reason to think otherwise.

If anything, the "war" of the slot1's will boil down to frequency of updates/compatibility...not necessarily whether you have to patch or not.

O RLY?  can you link to some of this info?

in any case, it's far too soon to call it a disaster.  I remember when I got my supercard lite, and some people thought I was lying, and the firmware hadn't even been worked out yet, so the performance was lousy.  Now it's the best performance of any DS cart I own.  The Supercard DS will work itself out in time.. at least it's supercard team behind it, and they have enough of a customer base to make updating their products a "given".

I'll be receiving my supercard DS tomorrow or tuesday, and I'll see if it's a disaster or not..
