Tried to flash my nephew's DS, and after uploading the binary, during the 'loading game data' on the DS, it gives me a “DS Download Play Failed! Turn power OFF and ON to reset system. Face your DS partner, move closer together, and try again.”  error, every time.  Any ideas as to where I've gone wrong?

Are there any additional steps needed to be done not mentioned in the original guide of this thread?

[Edit] Found a mention that wifime only works with 'older' firmware, but does not mention what is considered 'older.'  What firmware do you need to be able to use it?

Also, by the way, "Extract Wifime to c:\nds\wmb\data " needs to be changed to "MOVE Wifime to c:\nds\wmb\data"

Look at my sig. If you need a 2-series Pass device, WiFiMe will not work.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

I know this is an old thread but . . . .

I believe WiFiMe will work with any version DS after the firmware has been flashed.  Obviously a 2-series DS will need a passme2 to flash the firmware in the first place, but I want to make it clear WiFiMe will work with any DS after it's flashed.

I just picked up a second hand DS with a 1 yr warranty  :D

They only check the screws and the pink and white sticker has been carefully removed and kept safe !

however, I'd like to know is the flashme_stealth the same as the standard but would make it pretty hard for anyone to detect in a shop should my ds pack in during the warranty period

And I take it that if that is the case flashme stealth will be happy over wifi me, my DS is an original with the metroid demo - except they sold that seperate

Will I need to get a DS game for saves, I think I've read right that some games still can't save with flashme (only a few) but there doesn't seem to be a definitive best game to buy to save to - would this be because of different save ram/eeprom types ? if someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate the help.

Never thought my cheap SuperCard would be so good !!

Thanks in advance

This is correct.

Yes, FlashMe stealth will install using the WiFiMe method.  You need a DS with FW3 or less though.

Verify your DS firmware version . . .

All currently listed DS games will save to SD.  If future games have issues then you will need a game cart with the same EEPROM size (4Kb, 64Kb, or 2Mb)  This list will provide all the information you need . . .

It use to be hard for anyone to detect, but now the supercard firmware has it boot straight to the supercard menu, so that would not fool anyone.

I don't think Wally Mart is going to test a returned DS with a supercard. They probably don't care.

Thanks everyone,

Well I don't think the place I got it from will have a supercard, but if they turned it on they may notice the warning missing  :D

I thought my ds was knackered as I usually play at low volume and it was all distorted, thanks to google I found other people listing it as a bug

the answer is headphones with inline volume control for low volume playing but a bit of a faux pas by nintendo who's stuff's usually top notch quality and bug free
