Adding movies (gbm & gbs files) to the CF

I just recently acquired a SuperCard (wicked product) and played around with it briefly last night, but I was unable to get the movies to work. They wouldn't show up on the SuperCard at all.

I've got the MediaPlayer for GBA (actually, both versions of it) and know that the GBA movies I created work fine.

I originally tried just copying the gbm & gbs files directly onto the CF, but that didn't work. So then I tried running it through the SuperCard software (which just produced an identical set of files - or so I think), and then added them to the CF - which also didn't work.

Am I missing something simply here? How does a person get the movies to work with the SuperCard?

Thanks

Have you tried converting a short (10-15 seconds) clip with the software found on the official Supercard site or our mirror here to see if it works?

So, when you copy them to the CF using Windows Explorer, can you see the files on the CF?  Or will they not copy to the card at all?  If you can see them located on the CF, have you tried playing them using the "FilmPlay.bin"? Files with extensions other than extensions associated with ROMs (.gba, .gbc, .gb, .nes, .pce, .gg, et cetera) will not show up in the "LIST" menu on the Supercard, just as files with extensions other than .sav will not show up under the "SAVER" menu.  Therefore, you will not see movie/sound files listed in either listing.  You have to open them from inside the GBA Media Player itself.

So it goes like this:
  • Convert clips to .gbm and .gbs format using the GBA Media Player conversion software.
  • Copy FilmPlay.bin directly to your CF card
  • Copy the converted movie/sound files to your CF card
  • Turn your GBA on with the Supercard and CF inserted
  • Locate "FilmPlay.bin", and press A to select it
  • Press A to select "Movie"
  • Locate the converted movie file and press A to play it

ahhh... thanks for clearing that up Diablo! I had thought that the 'FilmPlay.bin' file was a movie player to view the gba movies on your PC (looking back, now I feel dumb - as this could be done via the movie converter - plus I was wondering how the hell you would run that .bin file on your PC). It's good to know what that file is actually for! That would be what I was doing wrong. The files were copying onto the CF just fine, I just wasn't using the 'FilmPlay.bin' file.

Cheers! And thanks again for the help!
