Yes it will format. Drop to a command prompt and run:

format (drive): /fs:fat

Where (drive) is you drive letter. For me, my card is drive H, so:

format h: /fs:fat
Nintendo DSi
Nintendo Wii - cIOS38 Revision 12 (and more)
Madden PSP Slim v5.00 M33-6

Hi

The raw format is cool.

Hey, sort of offtopic, but where can I find out more about it? Wikipedia has nothing.

same thing happened to a 4G sd card that I tried to format to fat format with 64 clusters I think.  Well anyways the sd card then wouldn't be read by my computer, but would by my scsd.  My computer said it was in raw format.
I sent mine to the sd card manufacturer, and they sent me a new one.
I called them first and told them what happened.  I just said I tried to format, & that is what happened.  The service rep. asked if formated to FAT or FAT32 I said I didn't know, and pretended I was a newb.  If you bought your card a long while ago just tell them on the phone that you got it for a christmas present and don't have the receipt.  Because I think I had to send in receipt, and the barcode from the packaging.  But a good excuse can get by that.
