hey does any one know how to but the opera browser on a R4?

im assuming that nothing has changed and you still need something in slot2 right? will there ever be a way to do it without slot2? thanks

sinkhead

No, there won't be a way unless you use a homebrew browser.

Ok, I followed everything in the video and when ran the file on my M3 Simply, it said that it still required the slot-2 card thing..
I put it on the root folder of my micro sd card.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Or can anyone tell me another step-by-step guide to make it read from slot-1?

Thanks

dantheman

Is there a slot-2 device in your GBA slot that will act as RAM?  This patch only makes the Opera browser accept the RAM of the Supercard or M3 in place of the official RAM pack, so you still need some form of RAM in slot-2 for it to work.

PTER

Doesnt this patch trick the Opera Browser into reading the built in RAM from the M3 in slot-1? Which means you only need one cart, in slot-1?
Or if I got the whole concept wrong, then nevermind, haha.
I heard there was a way to make it work with only an M3 simply  :?

Slot-1 cards doesn't have RAM ;)

PTER

So I NEED a slot-2 card?

+ I thought m3s had built in RAM? :?

Sorry, I'm not really good with all this stuff..

Or a cheap EzV 3in1.

Built in RAM is used to run GBA games, and since slot1 cards cannot run GBA games, they don't need ram :)
Only slot2 m3s have ram (and not every one, the Perfect for example has much less than the Pro).

PTER

Hm.. What do you mean by slot-1 cards cannot run GBA games?

Ehm.... I mean that slot-1 cards can't run gba games?
For GBA games, you need a slot-2 card, that's all.

You have a Simply, right? No GBA games, then.

dantheman

The slot-2 M3 Perfect can run GBA games and has RAM.
The slot-2 M3 Pro can run very small GBA games and has 4 MB of RAM, which is useless for Opera
The slot-1 M3 Simply has no RAM at all and cannot run GBA games.

As psychowood said, if you have only the M3 Simply, you cannot run GBA games or use the Opera browser.
