I figured with all the slot-1 cards coming out there's gonna be a lot of people wanting to patch Opera with Triforce's patcher and not everybody knows how to use command prompt. I made this video to show people how it works.

If you don't know about the Opera patch, it allows you to put the Opera ROM on a slot-1 flashcart and trick the ROM into using your SuperCard or M3 as a RAM/Memory expansion pack.

Patching Opera Browser for use on a Slot-1 flashcard video
Folder for use with video - Opera ROM not included, find it yourself!
Or use the IPS Patches, for the M3 or the SuperCard. They are both about 2.6 Mbytes.

Happy browsing!
Also feel free to leave feedback here.

Edit: Ok, I'll make some things clear. To run the browser you NEED
    A slot-1 flashcart (R4DS, M3 Simply, EZ-V, SuperCard DS1)
A slot-2 flashcart that can run GBA games (Non-rumble SuperCards, M3 Perfect)
    A patched Opera ROM

Well, thanks anyways..

I hope someone will come up with a way to make it work on only a slot-1 flashcart..

There's a reason it requires the RAM pack.  The DS only has 4 MB of RAM, which isn't nearly enough for Opera to function efficiently.  Even with the 8 MB extra supplied by the RAM pack, it's still very slow and you can get "out of memory" errors if browsing for a long time.

I have a ds one supercard and a gba movieplayer advance (slot2). can i use that to run opera?

dantheman

The GBAMP has no usable RAM, so no it won't work.

i have a 2 gb sd card in it, does that change anything?

An SD card is not RAM, so no that will not help.  You cannot use the GBAMP for the Opera browser, sorry.

So is it possible to use the retail Opera card with a supercard lite in slot 2 and make the retail card think the sc lite is a ram pak?

No.

There's been talk of making a Nitro Hax code that would do such a thing, but nothing ever came out of it.  I agree that that would be nice, as I wouldn't have to carry around the RAM pack anymore.

Hi,

Ok I have M3DS Simply with microSD (SanDisk 2 GiB) SLOT 1.
I try what you say and not work.

So I buy microDS SuperCard Lite SLOT2. And I buy another SanDisk 2GiB.
So I have 2 GiB in SLOT 1 and 2 GiB in SLOT 2.

AND WHAT YOU SHOW DONT WORK.
So I think you buy the browser finally and all these patches are just FAKE.

Man 4 GiB (gigabytes) is sufficient I'm sure.

I see all time insert RAM or something like that.
It's idiot.

Storage space is not the same thing as RAM.  You have 4 GB of storage space, but that won't help you at all.  Is the Supercard Lite a regular Supercard or a Supercard Rumble?  If it's a Rumble, then it's not going to work at all.  If you have a regular Supercard, then it should be working.  You patched the Opera rom for the Supercard and launched the hacked rom from your M3 Simply, correct?

INPUT (ALL files in D:\01)

Browser.nds........................8,192 KiB (*)
OPERA_M3.BDF........................16 KiB
OPERA_SC.BDF........................16 KiB

OUTPUT

SLOT 1
M3 DS Simply (with 2 GiB microSD)

browser_M3_patched.nds...........6,041 KiB

SLOT 2
SuperCard Lite (with 2 GiB microSD)

browser_SC_patched.nds...........6,041 KiB

For both test I RUN cmd (to be in DOS and run bspatch.exe)

Test 1 (for M3 DS Simply - RUN from Slot 1)
d:\bspatch.exe Browser.nds browser_M3_patched.nds OPERA_M3.BDF

Test 2 (for SuperCard Lite - RUN from Slot 2)
d:\bspatch.exe Browser.nds browser_SC_patched.nds OPERA_SC.BDF

SO, same result for BOTH.

Memory Expansion required

Press POWER or touch the
checkmark to power off, then
insert the Memory Expansion
you received when purchasing
your copy of the Nintendo DS
Browser.

Sorry but I DON'T UNDERSTAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are they Nintendo DS Browser work with microSD?
2 GiB is too big ?
