Newbie: Can't upgrade my supercard.lite!

I have a DS Lite, Supercard.lite, microSD formatted as FAT, and a Passkey.

With nothing on the SD card, I copied micro_eng_170.bin to it. Placed it in the sc.lite and did not see any apps on the screen.

I know that I can run some apps cause some homebrew games work and DS AIM work.

I did the test and it shows that I have 1.63 f/w.

Ideas?

oldskoolboarder, Welcome to scdev!

Do you have the passkey in the ds slot?

2. put the superkey in your dslite.
3. Download the latest software Here. Choose the correct one for your sclite card (if rumble series get that, if not get the non rumble series).
4. put the file .bin file for non rumble and .scu file for rumble onto your micro sd card
5. put memory card in sclite and put in ds.
6. after booting up, choose the .bin or .scu file and say yes to question. After complete the supercard will have the latest version of firmware. turn off and take out microsd and put back into the pc.
7. Now you are ready to run the setupmicrosdV257en.exe (or rumble version if that is what you had).
8. After installing run and choose open and put in your roms you want. Afterwards you will have two files with romname.dsq and romname.sav, copy these to your microsd card and put back into your sclite and start playing.

That got me a little farther. And yes, I do have a passkey.

I didn't realize you need a specific rumble .SCU to flash the firmware. I downloaded setuprumbleV257en.rar because it seems to have a .SCU. It started but complained that I have the wrong file.

I suspect because this is for the Supercard with rumble, not supercard.lite (microsd) with rumble.

Any idea where I can pick up the latest .SCU for a supercard.lite (microsd)? Seems you tried to add a link to your post but it didn't go anywhere. The download section on this site doesn't seem to have the correct file and I can't find it on supercard.cn either.

I took the SCU file and still had the same problem about not being the correct file.

My microSD is formatted to FAT. Can't figure out what might be wrong unless I also have the bad solder problem on my card.

if yours it not a rumble, you do not want to use it. You can get the non rumble version HERE.

Mine is definitely a rumble, albeit the Chinese version. (I have to have a coworker translate the screens for me...)

It's a supercard.lite microSD with Rumble. I did the self test and the rumble works and comes up as 1.63. But still can't upgrade it. I'm gonna try to reformat it for FAT, since I use my Macbook to transfer files to the microSD card. I don't "think" that should cause a problem but I'll try to test this strictly on a PC tonite.

Because I had the Chinese version of the card, I had to go to the Chinese website and download that s/w package. Using that package, everything works now.

I have buy a SClite chinese version off ebay :oops:
but i cant download the fw 1.70 file it hangs at 58%

can somebody post the chinese 1.70 file?

You need to go to http://chn.supercard.cn/html/news/2006-12/18/06121810550693896.htm

and download the chinese s/w. Bear in mind that the recent earthquake made the web access to China slow to a crawl. I had to wait 4 days for the site come back up in order to download 2.58.
