Hi

So, why can't some slot-1 cards detect the save type? Shouldn't it be as simple as a program looking at the rom (before booting it.) to see how the game is saving.

AFAIK there is no 100% way of working out the save type by just looking at the ROM at a file level, some cards/patchers have better ways of "guessing" that others, most just use a "dat" database type file of the rom releases.

Hi

hmm... here's a little Idea that in thery might work.

The flash card would use a .bin file, but if the game wasn't listed in the .bin file then The card would automaticly creae four save files, the four diffren't types of .sav files nds games use, and then do a quick little on the fly patch on the game being run. When the game saved, It would .sav to all four of the .sav files. Then, the next time the game is run, the card would check which .sav file's data isn't corrupted, add the game to the .bin file, unpatch the game, and delete the three .sav files that are corrupted.
