Saving in homebrew when the new firmware comes

Wondering if homebrew patched with the new unreleased firmware will be able to save directly to the CF/SD

If any devers know how to write to the DS cart eprom (save slots) then surely the patching software will work.

Hopefully

Homebrew is a bit awkward.  Most of it's geared for generic flash carts and give them a ds.gba extension which is meant for gba flash carts.  Renaming this to NDS though, will make it run like a charm on the supercard, except you have to run it naked:  trying to patch the nds makes it inoperable in any way, nonetheless save to the SD/CF.

Romman seems to be focusing on the commercial rom side of things.

Not fair :P

One could always attempt to reverse the firmware and patches (preferably one who knows assembly at any rate) and make some kind of homebrew lib that allows the save to write directly.

I personally hope they will release some info/lib/docs so people like Infantile and Chism can simply add compatibility like they have done for the GBAMP and M3...

I can confirm that. He said yesterday to me, that will release an API for homebrew compatibility, so can access directly to SD/CF.

Sweet ;) that card will be the cats arse well into the future then...

on an absolutely hilarious twisted turned road side note I see infamous SC bashers - M3 - are "stealing" more SC features for their product (I mean other than ROMS entirely, that is) with their saves system... perfection at what price I say.
