Hi,

I need to log in to use my school wifi network to play mario kart ds wireless..but i dont want a web browser as i dont surf net on my nds lite...

Is there a homebrew which allows you just to log in to the wireless network so that you can play nds game online? No other browser function is needed...

Thanks

I don't think there is any homebrew that specifically does this, but dslinux + retawq would probably work.

No, there is no way to do this. You'd have to get a nintendo wifi adapter and hook it to a computer, log in via the computer and play like that.

At least there are no current solutions to do so, and I wouldn't assume there'd be any any time soon.

If you have the official NDS Browser, would that work?
DS Lite Onyx Black
Supercard Lite
Nintendo Wii (US)
PSP (Metal Gear PO Limited Edition)

It should.

So with the two homebrew browser Gnirfleo and the other one (didnt remember the name)....that should work too???

With the official NDS browser, after i log in, i have to hot swap in my DS(One) to play mario kart online? Is that how it work?

That's the problem, I'm not sure how the servers identify the traffic... If it's going by the mac address then there shouldn't be an issue from logging in on a browser then switching to a game... But honestly I don't believe that's how most of these servers work... I'm no expert though... I'd assume the server monitors everything that's connected to it and once it disconnects it would require the authorization again, in which case no matter what you'd do you'd never get the DS through the school servers as there'd be no way to maintain a connection through the browser while you switch to a game.

If you're using a SCDSOne I think it would work by first logging in using the opera browser, doing a soft reset and running your game. I guess...

My guess is that most of these wifi login things use RADIUS.  The sole question is whether being logged out is timeout based or not.  I would imagine they would have to be if you consider the nature of web traffic.  What if you login and then go idle for 5 minutes?  Does it then log you out and then require another login?  Doubt it.  I really think using a DS-based browser is at least worth a try.

Edit:  I found this documentation about a specific RADIUS setup:

QuoteIf a user doesn't explicitly log out, PacketWise will automatically time out after one hour of inactivity

Then it really is possible with the nds browser.
