I will show you how to reduce the ROM size, to safe some space and reduce load time.



1) Download this program

2) Unzip and Run it


3) Click in the ROM TRIMMER tab ( 1 ), than open the ROM  ( 2 ), dont forget to change de file type ( on the bottom of the open file window ) to *.* ( all files )



The program show the original size and the final size


4) press the TRIM button.

the program will creat a file output_name_of_the_rom.nds  ins the same directory of the rom was..


the reduced size depends on the game, some reduce a couple megabites, others get a major reduction like Castlevania, original was 64MB the reduced is 47, much better =]




Note: It wont work if IPS Patched ( Like Another Code ) roms... it will broken you ROM

you cant know..  if you download  its probably not patched.. normaly IPS PATCH is to Correct or HACK roms..

if you didnt apply the ips by yourself  you got 90% of chance to have a clean rom !

Also did you tried the restart patch in gbata? If that works it will be great.

NDSPatch v.1 reduces the romsize by a factor of bytes better than this tool does.

Now I could be wrong, but I believe the unit used for these in normal carts and in the supercart Ram is MB or megabit, which is only 1/8 of a megabyte.
