These notes were not on the prior release info:

Usage: Delete old "shell" folder and "MSFORSC.NDS" file, download the new 1229 firmware, unzip it and copy to "SCSHELL" folder and MSFORSC.NDS to the root of TFlash/MicroSD.
NOTE: SuperCard DS(ONE) has a micro firmware, user should download the SC DS(ONE) OS to the ROOT of the flash memory card before use it.

Because it came out a long time ago and we had lots of threads about it already? I don't know why gbatemp.net suddenly decided to report on it now but probally because they missed it before? or because its now posted on the main page..  eitherway most? of us scone owners have been using it since the 29th

Yeah, ratx, i also had it for my scds1 already, and totally aware of the previous postings. The reason i posted it, was for the simple reason that i saw it on SC main page (eng.supercard.cn) looking for an answer to a seperate post. Also the reason for the report from gbatemp was probably the same. My guess also is that the notes were the reason, or that SC made the news and did not post the update yet, possibly.

And just for no other reason but to try and stay awake at work, in between thawing out instruments that have frozen up, in our cold snap we are having in the pacific NW.
