I have a sclite with superkey.

I got everything to run first time except I have a small problem:
None of the homebrew that runs using wireless internet will connect!!!

I played mario kart ds fine on wifi...

Apps like dsorganize irc/streaming content, dsliveweater, voicechatclient 1.5 for DS, beUP.....

NONE of them connect...

Do you have everything set to Automatic in your wireless settings area?  That might be the issue, as the homebrew wifi lib has a hard time with DHCP (the process that automatically obtains an IP and DNS settings) so you should try manually setting values for each field.  If you look in your router's setup menu, you can usually find all the info you need there.  Also note that most homebrew will only look in profile #1 and ignore #2 and #3.

If that doesn't work, then here's another idea.  Apparently newer DS Lites have different wireless chips built-in.  A new version of the DS Wifi lib was released only a day or so ago.  Programs will need to be recompiled with the new release in order for them to work on these newer DSLites.

And if all that doesn't work, then you'll just have to live with the fact that your wireless router is not compatible with the wifilib, yet. Thats what happened to me.

THanks for the quick replys.

When you say programs have to recompiled, this is upto the developers correct? i.e. - theres no homebrew patcher for SC that will recompile the programs?

My FW is 1.63, and my router is a linksys wrt54g with no security. DSorganize and BEUP for example connects and gets an IP but I get the RSS_ID = -1 and HANDSHAKING screens...

I guess I'll wait for more news on this subject.

Yeah, recompiling the programs must be done by the developers.  But still, can you post what your wifi settings are when playing an official game with WFC?  And also post what appears when you go to Start - Run - type "cmd" and hit okay - type "ipconfig" and hit Enter.

I would also take a look at http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=10320 and see if you can find some info there that might help.

It's kinda weird, after I run Wifi homebrew it doesn't detect my router when I run commercial games, but works just fine for homebrew.

I have to reset my DS's Wifi settings to be able to connect to Wifi.

This is very weird. I have a WRT54GL, which is pretty much the same as your router. Homebrew apps and Nintendo games both work.

Well...

I feel silly...after reading dantheman's post, that gbatemp forum had the information I needed.

What I did was manually enter in all the gateway/dns/ip information into the nintendo wfc connection settings and save it...

Homebrew works fine now.

Off topic - does anyone know how to get dslive weather to save on the sclite?

Malereka

also...does this mean i cant use homebrew when i go out to places? Because I dont know other peoples network settings...???

I've had a hard time getting homebrew to work correctly in foreign areas, yes, because I don't know the specific details of the connection.  All I can do is let an official game connect and hope that the Wifi library will work with just the SSID.  I haven't been able to test this much though, because the only place I'm usually at that has free wifi is my school, but since their SSID is not broadcasted, homebrew will not work at all with it.  That's part of the reason why I bought the DS web browser when I was in London, heh.
