What is the wii email format?

OK I got my Wii number and I remember reading something about being able to receive email directly to my Wii through an email such as wxxxxxxx@wii.com or something, but I can`t remember it right. And the xxxxx meaning the wii number. I tried sending an email from my gmail account to wxxxxxxxxxxx@wii.com (with my correct wii number instead of the xxxxx) but it has not arrived to my Wii.

Can anyone please tell me the correct format for the email address of the Wii number?

Thanks!!!!!

You have to add your e-mail address to your contact list, when you do the Wii will send out an e-mail asking for approval. Respond to that e-mail, and then you can send messages back and forth from your wii to that address. Then you have to repeat every time you want to add a new contact.

Thanks! Gonna try this right away!

I just wanna make a complaint about the Wii here. I really like it and the games, but it has such a non-intuitive interface!

First I had problems finding out how to lower the remote speaker volume.
Next "what the hell it this Wii Friend envelope at the Mii Plaza?"
After that it was a pain to find my own Wii number.

I mean, the interface is cute and all, and now I am pretty familiar with it. But geez I don`t believe that a system supposed to be used by "all family" should be that awkward to figure out at first glance...

Mind you I am not a dumb person. Went through Computer Science college, I build and customize my own PCs and systems, Do the usual stuff like firmware flash the DS, hack the X360 (two different ones already) and so on.

Well anyway. Thanks for the help with the email thingie. And now, back to more gaming! ;-)

Yeah there were some really odd choices made when they designed the Wii... but not much else you can do about it except suck it up. That and wait for someone to come up with a way to hack the firmware.
