http://www.winsunx.com/list.php?mod=784 saw this while looking at the EZV and R4 and was wondering if theres any news/review on this and if its any good? is 8Gbit alot of space? any info would be nice

zektor

8Gbit is 1GB. Not a whole lot considering you can grab a 2 or 4GB memory card for many slot1 and slot2 solutions. No reviews on this one as far as I know...

avoid all the slot ones with built in memory for now except the ds-x ofcourse.......  All of them are the same rebranded crap.  They seem to have very slow writing times.  And for slot 1 you can't have more than 2GB right now   and never fall for the Gbit vs. Gbyte trick.  8 gigabits is 1 Gigabyte.  Gigabits are writtin as Gb(lower case b) gigabytes are GB(upper case B) just incase some people might fall for it.

Its a ripoff of DS Linker and probably made by the ultraflashpass team as they like to copy other cards :D

For a slot 1 device... why does it need a slot 2 part as well? That seems kinda fishy that it's even a true slot 1 device...

Word of advice in general, you should stay away from fixed memory devices. The great thing about external memory devices is if the memory goes, it's easily and cheaply replaced. Plus, if you haven't heard of a device hanging around a forum like this then it's a good bet whoever manufactures it, probably won't be giving it too much support.

the slot 2 part is only used for writing to the slot 1 device, not used when in play. but ya just wanted some infor on it first, looks like im still stuck deciding between the R4 and the EZV
