onekelly (or anyone else), if you are able to answer this question, can you do so please? I am drilling my eyes out by staring at the blinding computer screen   for hours. And the bad thing is that I have got nothing out of it. So will you please be a kind person to help this poor guy out?

You might as well get comfy, as this may take a while:

Well, I had Moonshell 1.5 on my Transflash on my Simply. The  I decided to update to 1.6. So...I deleted all of the files related to Moonshell, and downloaded the 1.6 Moonshell .zip file. I unzipped, and ran the Setup.exe. I chose my options, with 'moonshl.ini (full) is copied' ticked, and the language setting set as the default:

MSO (ank only) small memory package (some weird symbols)

I also chose the 'M3SD M3 Adapter (SD Card)' as that was the only reasonable choice. All the others werent M3's, however some were Micro SD. So please tell me if I have chosen the correct option.

And then I went and pressed: 'Setup'. Everything ran smoothly. When it ended, I went to 'My COmputer > MIcroSD card. I renamed the long file name to: _DS_MSHL.NDS. I left the 'moonshl' folder just as it is. I then took the Transflash out of my Computer and inserted it into the Simply into my NDSL.

As expected, the 'Loading' sign came up, and went to the main menu of the M3 Simply. 3 Icons. I clicked the Middle one ( for Moonshell).

Black covers the top screen, and a rectangle with a progress bar appears on the bottom screen. The Progress bar has 'Game Loading...' written above it (as if you were loading a normal game).

I wait. Nothing happens, apart from the bar which moves up a pixel every half an hour (ok maybe a little exaggerated - but still extremely slow)

I get impatient and switch the Simply off, as I know there is definitely something wrong. The old version of the Moonshell (1.5) only took half a second to load.

I inserted th Transflash back into my Computer, and tried to seek the porblem, but to no avail.

I am begging you to help me. Everyone is able to install theirs perfectly but me. I do not see what I am doing wrong. I have got a popular, reliable Transflash Card, Kingston 1GB (brand new), and my Simply is also brand new.

I also downloaded the Moonshell from the official site. That Infatilite thingy.

The ONLY problem I can see is this DLDI thing. I have absolutely no Idea on what this is, and I cant find anything about it out there. Am I supposed to put this DLDI file onto my Card? Or has it got nothing to do with it?

Any help would be GREATLYappreciated. I cannot emphasise this enough.

Ok, now my hands are dead, my brain cells rapidly deteriorating, I'm dehydrated from lack of water and I'm half blind.

Now, I am going to go to get a glass of water, go to bed and hope to switch on the computer in the morning with an answer awaiting me.

Thanks

zektor

Ok, delete the moonshell files again, run setup again,  and do NOT use M3SD, but rather R4TF (R4 Revolution). That driver is the same for the M3 Simply. The DLDI patches are simply included patches with moonshell that will patch the executable for your card....when you check off R4TF in the setup, you are selecting that dldi. Use that and try again :)
Nintendo DSi
Nintendo Wii - cIOS38 Revision 12 (and more)
Madden PSP Slim v5.00 M33-6

jbullfrog

you checked the wrong file for the moonshell file.

Check R4TF (Revolution for DS).  LEave all others unchecked.

From what I read, everything else will be fine.

When you rename '_DS_MSHL.NDS'  don't write '.NDS' at the end.  The extension is already .nds
M3 Simply
Onyx Black DS lite
1 GB Japanese Kingston microSD

I posted a long help file but when posting, for some reason it would not save the process, then would not connect with scdev.org.

Do you run from the button on m3simply (i think there is a video button) or did you run from the moonshell.nds (not correct name i know) like you would any other homebrew software, just like a game? Also is it possible you deleted some of the m3simply files that is used for its own software, doesn't the m3simply run a version of moonshell as its operating system.

also make sure the moonshl folder is in the root directory of your microSD.

Sorry i did not go long winded again, but i am not retyping all what i lost.

let us know how it went.

I use the language file 'MS100 (UTF-8 ), unicode windows charset'

Thak you! It was the R4DS option!!! Thank you so much. Now, one more question, can you tell me how to quick save / real time saving during a game? I pressed L+R+A+B but it doesnt work :P

Thanks!

You have to press that little button with an 'R' on in the top right corner of the browser, make sure it's green and not red. Also, some games don't work with it, but I think most do...

Yeh, The R thing was Green. Ill try saving again and see. Whats that 'R / L Unlock or Lock'  thing?

sinkhead

To reset to the R4 menu it's L+R+A+B+X+Y, to reset to the game's menu it's L+R+Start+Select
