Maxconsole has turned into shit, I wouldn't recommend going there unless u want to hear lies and b$ about EVERY mod they don't get a piece of the pie from. Let me sum it up, they get profit from DS-Xtreme sales so all other DS mod carts are shit except for DS-Xtreme. They get kick backs from the new cyclowiz so all other Wii mods are shit except for cyclowiz, ect, ect, ect.

afaik ..

all psp up to 2.80 can be modded easily

2.81->3.03 can be modded via (LibertyCityStories game..original..1st edition)

but i expect some of the very latest off the factory line are 3.03+, and I don't know if they can be done
Yes I'm mad

Look at it like this folks.  There are more than 20 million PSPs out in the wild, and on store shelves, and in warehouses, with firmware 2.80 or less. It's very unlikely that you will run into 2.81->3.03 firmware or higher, at least for the time being.  If you do happen to get PSP greater than 3.03 then simply return it and buy from a different source.

Hi,

I started this topic along time ago and with the new psp slim and its tv hook up ability I think I am ready to take the plunge.  Now a few questions.

1. Is the new psp slim tweakable with new firmwares?

2  If so what do I need to do this?  I know that certain things I will need like the firmware cannot be posted here and I am capable of finding that myself, but if you could give me the name of it and the items I will need it would be appreciated.  Please pm if you don't want to post.

Thanks :)

Yes, the new slim PSP can have a custom firmware.  You will have to use Pandora's battery and magic memory stick.  You can find a bunch of information, guides, and tutorials on how to do it.  I found qj.net to be helpful.
Rig 1: White DSLite, SuperCard Lite, SuperKey, 1 GB Kingston microSD (Japan)
Rig 2: PSP slim is here!  Thanks SCdev!

The catch for hacking a recent PSP, including the slim, is that you temporarily need access to an already-hacked PSP because you need to run a program to create the pandora's battery and memory stick.

EDIT: Also, I've heard(maybe someone with a slim can confirm this) that the TV-Out only works with progressive or HD TVs, just so you're aware.

That could be a problem.  Thanks for the heads up.  I guess I will need to do some research. :-\

I thought this was the case too, but after some reading, I found that you can do it by yourself.  It involves opening up a battery and cutting a pin on an IC.  It's a little tricky and nerve racking, but is possible.  It will turn it into a Pandora battery and then you have to download the required files from someone.  I'll see if I can find a link.

Thanks again.  Now I will check out the link and see if I am smart enough to figure it out :)
