well i have the oldest supercard that fits in Slot-2. It drains the battery and doesnt last more than 1 hour. it gets extremely hot when using. so i thought i might aswell get a new one.

can any of you tell me the best solution a supercard that is very cheap and if possible supports SD cards since ive had this kingston ever since i got the first supercard (the one that stick out)

Hi

If you want one that supports normal sd cards, you can get the supercard sd. (which is pretty good.)

If you're willing to use microsd's, get the supercarddsone. I have it and it is the absolute best. Extreemly easy to use. Fantasitc capability. Cheep. No gba support though... but not that important.

Supercard sd is good to if you don't want to get a microsd though. Go ahead.

By the way, I own a supercard cf (I think that's what you mean) and it doesn't get hot or have slowdowns with my gba games. (I think I"m just lucky with the gba games I like to play, but it's saying something all the same)

your other choice if you want a supercard that supports normal sd cards is the supercard sd rumble. It has no gba support but is WAY cheeper than the normal supercard sd

I have the Normal Supercard SD the one that comes out of the system (a little)
So do you reccomend the SD rumble? becuase the one i have right now gets extremely hot when playing and does not let me play for more than 1hour :(

any ideas

The Supercard SD is not supposed to get hot when playing, so it sound like you have a defective unit.  Buying a replacement SC SD might be a good option.

However, whether to get the Rumble or not is another story.  The Rumble series has no GBA compatibility, and some DS homebrew has issues with it.  How important is GBA capability to you?

Of course, because the Rumble series has no GBA support, it has about the same capabilities as a slot-1 card.  I would probably recommend a slot-1 card over a SC Rumble in most situations.

i dont care much for gba compatibility i have a gba flash cart. as long as the sc rumble doesnt stick out uses sd cards and lasts the battery long and doesnnt over heat maybe il get that.

There's nothing that doesn't stick out and uses SD cards.
size=8]DS3, FM7, SCmSD1.80/2.60, WRT54GL with Tomato Firmware[/size]

Hi

supercard rumble = cheeper than a slot-1 card + supports sd cards.

I told my teacher I'd practice my math during my day off (today)

im actually considering getting some minisd cards. now with a mini sd card what is the best option thats cheap and most importantly to me lets the battery run for atleast 4hours.

Hi

If you don't care about gba then the cheepest solution is the supercard rumble minsd. (Assuming you have a way to boot nds code from slot-2)

what do you mean by nds code? i have flashme7 installed

Hi

I ment

1. flashme

2. a pasme

3. a nopass

Normally, you can only run gba code from slot-2. Only with these devices can you run nds code from slot-2.

If you have flashme installed your fine.

I still say you'd be better off with a slot-1 card than a Rumble card, but hey, whatever.  My main problem with the Rumbles is that for some reason, some homebrew doesn't work on them.  Take for instance SNEmulDS.  It hasn't worked on Rumble cards since v0.2, and archeide can't figure out how to fix it.  This is a shame, since it leaves Rumble users with the outdated SNES DS as their only option for SNES emulation, while slot-1 users can at least choose between SNES DS and SNEmulDS.

How lond does the battery last for the supercard rumble. I always thought that all supercards dont let you play for long becuase ive had this supercard SD for a year and have been playing it mostly hooked to the wall since it doesnt last more than 1hour 20minutes.

dantheman: homebrew is not really important to me; I have another flash card that does homebrew but is not really big enough for DS games.

My Supercard usually lasts about 4 hours or so, depending on what exactly I'm doing with it.  Stuff that uses the Supercard's RAM tends to run it dry quicker.
